Our pleasure!
They seem to be afraid of the Habanero in Merida! Cochinita with habanero is a must…the red onion with vinegar cut the heat and allows the fruity flavors of habanero!

Great tip for us to know for next time!
We've been renting an apartment every winter for the last 4 years that's just around the block from the Wayan'e you went to. My husband's absolute favorite taco/tortas there are huevos con longaniza (longaniza is a local smoked sausage). I love the castacan, but also like a lot of their chicken offerings. And aren't their (3!) salsas delicious?!

Thanks for the tour! I love Merida♥️ And I would like everything you had without the meat. People would probably look at me like “What?!?!” but I don’t mind.

It's kind of difficult to be a vegetarian and eat the local cuisine (which is very meat-heavy), although there are non-local vegetarian restaurants opening in Merida on a regular basis.
NOOOOOOOOOOO, la chaya maya es mala idea para comer!!! una disculpa de parte de todo el estado de yucatan por que comienron en ese restaurante. que bueno que disfrutaron de buena comida en los mercados

Really? Why?
@dvjbarkley

@@ManuelaSilvaR They do not have the "homemade" touch in the way they prepare the food, the flavors are not the ORIGINALS of the region, because they are prepared in a commercial way. You can eat the real food in the local towns and markets.

Maybe try at "principe tutul xiu" if you want a restaurant or "4 hermanos" if your ok with a smaller place. But both places have better and more original taste than chaya maya
Did you forget sopa de Lima?
