Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This how to video shows my favourite homemade method to make most dull knives almost razor sharp it uses a bench grinder with a ply wood wheel on one side and a leather strop wheel on the other side it is a great idea for custom knife making and maintenance, it is a excellent all round blade sharpening systems

I’ve watched a lot of the bench-grinder type videos on how to sharpen knives. This is by far the best. Great ideas (e.g., simply spinning the base around; inverting a jig saw where one doesn’t have a band saw, placing a layer of wood over the leather to prevent fraying while cutting), and adding a strop to the second wheel location just took it over the top. Great work. This will be my build model. Much appreciated. 🤙

This’s the best diy making of a honing wheel I’ve seen. Thank you for making and posting to KZread.
First one showed missing parts. Second one was complete. It's a working bench grinder kzread.infoUgkxxC8HPnl24fu0XhMU_nbmWNEUoK1RMHXk . One thing I like alot is that it's surprisingly quiet. I don't feel like I'm sacrificing any rpms or power for the quietness either. All in all it's a very nice machine. No vibration whatsoever.
I’ve watched countless videos on DIY knife sharpener grinders. This is the first one that explained how to apply and use the silicon carbide powder. thanks
Very good video. This is what my family and i have been doing for 20+ years. You showed everything very well. Great job. The one difference between your build and ours is we normally use mdf, all of the little nooks and cranies in the mdf help the abrasive have a place to stick and stay, but ive used ply as well. I just personally like the mdf better. Anyway again great vid. Wish this would have been around 30 years ago when i was just starting to learn about carpentry, and making things.
You're brilliant! This is by far the best vid on the subject. At about the 6th minute I already opened my browser and looked for 3.5mm leather on eBay. This is how inspiring you are! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You made it look so easy. Great workmanship using minimal tools. Super sharp knives. Thanks for sharing Sean Beardon.
Hey, that's a brilliant idea..! I thought about a wet grinder, buffing wheel and what not to do the job. Even had an SCR in mind so it would turn slow enough. Now I see it can be done much easier. Thanks for sharing.
I'm about to make my own wheels for knife sharpening, this video was extremely helpful. Thank you!
Very Nice. I Like your project..
Excellent video! And thank you for providing in the video description all the tools and equipment you used, along with the link to the music. First class job, friend! Bravo.
Excellent, beautifully explained in a very simple way
I absolutely love that project! I just need to get a hold of some leather and I am doing it as soon as I can. Keep it up! Great work!
Maybe one of the coolest videos I’ve ever watched ...... now I feel like a complete failure for not knowing how to do this. Nice job ..... I’m now a subscriber!!

At first I thought “what?!” But a closer view shows the wheels spinning away from you and you later point that out. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
I really liked this video. Thank you young man. You taught an old dog a new trick. You keep your mind open and you never get to old to learn something new .

An old bear a new trick isn’t it?
Followed this step by step and my knives are razor sharp now. I used a router to cut the disc along with a circle cutting jig. Cutting it with a jigsaw failed because the chisels just exacerbated the minor irregularities of the disc edge. That led to a whole lot of vibration. After I cut a proper disc the vibration was gone. I also just bought a six inch leather stropping wheel because the cost was similar compared with buying the leather and doing it myself. The bench grinder I used was a $41 Wen model from Amazon. Great setup. Thanks

Very creative. I like to try one. Thanks for sharing.
repurposed my cheap bench grinder today based on this video and it worked a treat... Many Thanks
Best tutorial i have seen yet on this. Youre a rockstar dude !
Nice work! You've inspired me to make these wheels and repurpose one of my bench grinders.
This is great! I love that you reversed the spin direction too to make is safer.
The grinder not being secure to the table is asking for trouble. Roll up those sleeves, better yet...NO sleeves. In an instant, an avoidable accident can be a life changer. I'm saying this with 34 years of Operating Room Trauma experience. Great video and idea. Thanks. Love and Peace.

If your grinder is walking the wheel needs to be dressed or replaced, shouldn’t he sharpening on a walking grinder period

I don't need to change the stone instead..just use body soap on one side to make the stone less grits 😂 the blade sharp and shining
Without saying a bunch of wordiness, this is a great vlog. You have shown how to do this in a great simple way. Gotta make me one. Thanks for your vlog, posting and sharing with us. I’m gonna subscribe and give a great big high 5.
nicely done by the way! i like it when your holding down the grinder while your trueing up the that wheel! nice!
you are so ingenieus man good job
Thanks for your great video. lots of information.......for a novice or the experienced hobbyist.
Amazing. This stuff costs a fortune to buy... Nice to see how easy it is to make for a fraction of the cost. Thanks!
Good Work, looks like fun. Especially like your jigsaw conversion, simple and effective!
Dude, you're absolutely brilliant! Way too cool. I loved the idea of mounting your jig saw under plywood through a hole - that's got me thinking of other uses. Very cool.
Great job. I have some MDF and a spare grinder laying around just for this kind of project. I like the carbide and glue idea. Of course, it's a good example of why we should wear safety glasses, again.
Very nice work with some bonus hacks on other tools thrown in - love the inverted jigsaw.
Who are you and HOW DID YOU BECOME SO AMAZING!!! On a serious note, I've been watching videos from all over the world, usually America, and yet here you are on this side of the great pond. Good for you friend.
I like how you impervious and use the equipment that is already used very smart keep it up good job

I have been thinking about buying/making a power knife sharpening system. While I want to get a beld sander it is more expensive to buy and much harder for me to make. Your system seems inexpensive and rather easy to make. Thanks for such a nice video.
Dang man that was really cool! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely captivating watching those skills.
I saw this ideea first at Izzy Swan's woodworking channel. But I also like this approach too.
so many solutions i needed in one video. thank you!
Thanks Sean, did the plywood wheel today. Wish I'd wet it a bit before the glue (so it would soak into the wood better), but will try that next time I charge it.
Great job Master,Thanks for sharing this kind of diy with us..
I just subcribed because of your Salad Fingers shirt! Priceless! ❤️ And a great hack of course!
That’s a really cool project 👍😎 Thank you for sharing 🤓
Really great job! i enjoyed this video.
great job and good video, short and to the point, thanks!
That was really, really well done!! Thanks for sharing, one of the best videos I have ever watched. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent instructional video. Keep it up.
Brilliant...ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. THANK YOU. X
He has literally reinvented the wheel!
Man you're an artist So professional
A great project. Congratulations, very good.
Very meticulous, I like your style. Thanks.
Super interesting video, you are using your tools very ingeniously
I do same thing, just added a guide to make accurate repeatable angle. great job
I have almost the same setup. But I picked up a set of paper wheels from some guy on eBay. Same grit on one side with wax and just fine polish on the other side.
This is going to be my bank holiday weekend project👍

THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR IDEA !
Love this video! Going to try this out, I think.
Bad ass my friend! I'm going to do this. The old way with a sharpening stone and or rods is gone as with the buggy..THANKS :)
Excellent. I have a bench grinder in the shed that rarely gets used and a draw full of blunt knives.
The A&E are awaiting your arrival mate. OMG, just how many basic shop safety rules has been broken !
This works great. I setup like you did but now waiting for my compound. It works even with green buffing compound.
Really nice mate , i try do that at home :)
That is a really awsome idea .
FANTASTIC. Thanks for sharing.
Anyone notice he had a grinding wheel on one side, as he turns it over to change the base round it’s a polishing mop wheel, nice trick if you can do it, and before anyone comments yes I know he changed it an edited his video. Having said that ,very clever idea and tips on how to 👍
Very nice great tip and great video thanks for sharing
Some good tricks in this video I like it 👌
Dude you rock!
Definitely cool. U have watched a few videos of thus type of project, and you definitely win for simplicity and creativity. I will be building this project. I have several "cat skinning" tools, but not this one. Have you ever tried making a knife?
Very good job indeed. Well done.
skill and innovative level - top notch
Thanks for sharing,great video
This is the best knife sharpener I have ever seen. Its brilliant what a good idea thank you.👍
muy bien VERY WELL. gracias. THANKS
The best one yet
very clever bro !nice ,i think i ll try it .
Awesome job, tnx bro!!!
Works, I've done this too.
Very cool, indeed. Thanks, man 👍
VERY GOOD VIDEO ! NICE HACK / COOL MUSIC / COOL VIDEO MAN ! KEEP UP !
Muy buen video !!! un trabajo excelente
Great job thanks for sharing
Like how you produced your set up found it interesting to watch, you might find it better to use Aluminium Oxide instead of Silicon carbide which is generally used for non ferrous materials also cheaper, alternatively use a standard GC120 JV1A grinding wheel which will last a lifetime just grinding knives.
A really good idea!
Great video, lots of good ideas. But watched another video, where the guy just used the buffer wax, instead of gluing the grit to the plywood wheel, simple and quick, but I also like your leather wheel for final finish. 👍🇨🇦

Wow very cool, nice Inspiration
Very good idea
Ouch, this is totally brilliant! By far the best vid on the matter. Now even I can do it. And I will! One question, though. Isn’t 180 grit to coarse? I saw chefs sharpening their kives with 1,000 grit first.

this was my thought, too...i think i will try the green chrome oxid cr3o2 with PG17 "grade" ( dont know the english word. sry )german ama-zone says "Cr³O² Chromoxidgrün stumpf 0,3 µm". this is used for finishing razors and should be smooth enough to the material
A plywood wheel with simply polish works good if the knife isn't dull behind use I made one and it works great after only a few minutes of using
What a cool instruction!!!
I have to do this, thanks!
