My carriers are out and my cats STILL aren’t buying it. Your kitties were SO nice about it! Once we get to the vet they’re always fine, but they don’t want the carrier or the car ride. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🐈 🐈‍⬛ 🐈‍⬛ 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

thank you so much! i have watched many videos on how to put kitties into carriers and yours is the best. the towel never worked for me but Im thinking the pillowcase is going to be perfect.

I have two dog style crates stacked on each other in closet with side door open. I lined them with towels and they both run to the condos during a thunderstorm. They got used to them when I was rearranging clothes in there and decided to start playing in them during my chores.

Lol. Yeah right! This would NEVER work with my cat. He'd fight me right out of that pillow case. You are using a docile cat. I'd like to see a video with a scared feisty cat and how they can be put into a carrier when they are not sedated. I'm having a hard time getting my 9 month old cat into his carrier to take him to the vet to get neutered. My husband and I tried 3 days ago and we both got so tore up we ended up having to go to urgent care because of our deep wounds and bite marks on our hands and arms. Yes, it was our fault for continuing to try when our cat was so upset. My vet gave me a sedative but it has not worked for my cat so I feel hopeless. I bought some cat gloves and my only option is to wait until he's not suspecting it, put the carrier close, grab him when he's not looking and put him in it.

Maybe, try leaving the carrier out all the time, either remove the door or find a way it can’t close or move, or if it’s the type that the to comes off, you can remove the top. Start slow with putting food in front of the cage but not in it, then, the next time you put some food out, put it right on the edge of the front of the carrier, and then the next time just inside the carrier. Eventually, you can get the food all the way to the back slowly overtime and your cat will get more used to the idea of the carrier. You want to make it a good thing not a negative. Also, try using a much larger carrier, like a medium sized dog carrier, you cat may not find it as scary.

@@CatToyLady - Thank you. My carrier is pretty big. It's big enough for the 2 cats I have and they're almost 12 pounds each. I do leave the carrier out all of the time and I've been feeding them their treats in front of the carrier. My only problem is that I can't feed just one cat without feeding the other so it might be hard trying to put food in the carrier. The one who isn't scared of it will go in and eat the food and the one who is afraid of it will avoid it altogether. I just adopted these boys a month ago. They were scared when I got them to my house and they've been in my bedroom ever since. It took them 9 hours just to come out of the carrier because they were so scared when they got to my house at first. Then it took them almost 2 weeks to finally trust me and let me pet them. I'm going to introduce them to the rest of the house this weekend and let them get used to that and I'll try again in a couple of weeks. I think we both need a break because I've been trying all week to drug my cat. I'm tired of trying and he's tired of running & hiding from me. He needs a change of scenery so I'm going to wait for him to get used to the rest of my house and get him when he's not expecting it. I've bought some of those bite/scratch/tear proof animal handling gloves that go all the way up the elbow so if he fights me again at least this time I'll be protected.

Get a mobile vet that comes in the house.

That's looks pretty scary for a cat that may have anxiety. Hope they can get out quick from the pillow case.

I am really scared. my cat has a big lump near his throat and I believe it is a bee sting or, hopefully not, cancer. I am scared because he is acting weird and scratches it. it's a clear sign that I need to take him to the vet. but I've never taken him to the vet before. I am afraid that it will be hard to put him in the carrier, and if I will manage to get him in he will freak out and hurt himself. I know that I have to take him to the vet but I don't know how. please, if you are reading this comment, tell me what I can do for my cat. I love him so much and I don't want to lose him.

Maybe see if there is a mobile vet in your area, they may not be able to do X-rays or any major work up, but they might be able to prescribe “happy meds” that will make it easier to get you cat to the vet for a better work up.

Once I get my cat into the carrier, he cries the whole 10 min ride to vet. He pushes his nose into the carrier so hard his hose gets chafed and looks like it could start bleeding. What do I do?

As for “happy meds” at the vet. And sometimes a larger carrier can help. If they find the right dose on meds for him, he may not care if he is in the car.

I wish somebody would do a video with a fully awake, fully healthy healthy, fighting cat. Sprinkle some cat nip onto a pillow case and wait for them to curl up in it is laughable!

I have 2 carriers, they stay out all the time. Medium sized one is stacked on top of the larger one. I have different cats that take turns sleeping in them. I call them my cat condos. All is calm until someone has a vet appointment. They somehow know someone is going to the vet. They just don't know who. So none of them go near the carriers a couple weeks out! Carriers are totally ignored or avoided. They're psychic! What a hoot they are when "the day" arrives! They all just disappear. Someone, at least 1 or 2 are always under foot. Always. Except vet day. They disappear off the face of the earth. Not to be seen again until dinner time. Sigh...

Wish you show a real example with a nice cat as all are, but one that is ready to transform into Godzilla once facing the prospect of being taken into a pet carrier. Your examples look too soft and easy. If my cat was as mellow as those in your examples I would have no issue at all.

I think you are wrong about it I think you would lose trust with the cat and make problems worse for the cat
