Here in europe hyundai has just updated the i30n that has the same engine as the Veloster (we don't get the Veloster in Europe sadly). They bumped up the hp from 275 to 280, but most importantly you get peak torque for more time and you can push the engine more, while the old 275 bhp engine tends to run out of puff higher in the rev range. Plus, new headlights and taillights and new infotainment system with a bigger screen

@@lotsofcurveslover without a tune gas mileage wasn’t very good due to how early the turbo would come on. Around 22 mpg around town. With an ecu tune from SXTH Element I get 30+ mpg. Also the DCT muffler is quieter than manual. I love the car and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Get a tune and you’ll fall in love!✌️

I own a base (250hp) 2019 N and I’ve been slowly adding mods; AFE Takeda momentum intake and turbo inlet, Boomba blow off valve and lower torque mount, bent my own custom axle back exhaust and will be adding the AFE down pipe soon. I absolutely love this car and if you understand what it’s purpose is-railing corners, it’s a total stud in that respect. I have yet to find the limit as far as corners go and I’ve been told by many V8 guys that they can’t hang when the twisties come. Best bang for the buck hot hatch out there in my opinion.

What I learned from a forum is that those pops and gurgles from the exhaust are not called backfire (as popularly called) but afterfire. Backfire is the cause of a bad tune and can damage the cams but afterfire is the ignition of unburnt fuel in the exhaust. Love you guys! 🏎

It's one of the best driver's car on the market for the price (maybe not so much in Canada, though). However, Hyundai has done a really poor job with their dealer/service network for this car, at least in the US. Dealers know nothing about it and techs have very limited knowledge on just how drastically different this is from their other cars (save the i30N and Elantra N, which they also know nothing about.) Hyundai USA was pretty clueless as to this car even existing for its first 8 months. I assume this is probably pretty typical with any company that isn't a performance company that launches a new performance division, but Hyundai currently has a lot of growing pains in their service capacity with this car. They made a great car, but they are still trying to figure out how to have great after sales service, and this is a major downside that reviewers almost never discuss.

They changed the speedometer. It used to have like a progressive increase in numbers. It has increments of 10 up to 60, then it goes in 20s and then 40s. It makes it very hard to know what your speed is above 60 mph. Luckily it has the digital gage, but it I'm glad they changed it for the DCT.
