This is not a trick. It's just a coincidence. It's like people say 16/64 = 1/4 by cancelling the 6 from numerator and denominator. It's correct only in this case, but not in general. A math trick should work in general, not just in special cases.

Greetings. 125 does not have a square root. The square root of 125 would yield a mixed number answer. I think you meant the cube root of 125 which would be 5, determined as follows, (1+2+5) =8. Thereafter, the answer would be 8-3=5.

Let’s take the square root of 25 as our example. By the trick in this video, anything adding up to 7 under the root symbol would give us the answer 5. Not only is the square root of 25 5, but 16, 34, 43, 52, 61, and 70 also give us an answer 5. That’s just two digit numbers. I could use 1,231 and get an answer 5. Heck I could use 6,000,001 or 1,111,111 and get 5.
