Rebar or long big nails in horizontal brace or your brace will be on ground in a few years. If brace wire get loose, the brace won’t fall out.

Thank you for posting this. I was really expecting to see some negative comments from the old school farmers being that you didn't use pins. I need to make a small goat pen and this method seems like it will work just fine and will also require less of an investment in tools. Thanks!

The is the easiest and fastest way to do it. I have watched a dozen other methods on KZread and nobody else has a method this simple and the fewest amount of tools. I did it myself without a second set of hands or feet and it worked out great. Kudos to your daughter for being out there with you.

Why didn’t you level the cross piece?

Loved this. Finally a way to do this simply! I am building a shorter fence in my back yard to keep out dear and elk. Now I can do it WITHOUT needing all the extra tools such as drill bits, crimping tools and the like! !

Just from watching it seems like drilling a 3/8 hole and using brace pins would be a whole lot easier and more reliable. At least that’s how I do it.

SO much easier than anything else I've seen on KZread. Now if I can just find the receipt to return all my 10 in pins, etc..

In the past I haven't used pins but rather 8-10 inch large lag screws (with the hex head) and drive those in to each end.

Awesome 👍...I do it similar except I use 6" structural screws ...one per side... And a piece of rebar to wind the wire..the rebar is permanent and I use the winding tension to hold it in place...if that makes sense
