nice job! I have a fiberglass door that had a stain on it, but my wife wants to paint it. This solution sounds pretty good. I like the idea of not stripping it down.

Thank you! We have the same door, including the weathering issue. We just had our house painted and now our door looks so shabby. I priced front doors ($$$$$) and there is nothing in the budget for a new one so we are going to attempt to paint the old one. Your video is very well done!

Thank you, I am going to get this paint for my front door.. I did my front with the 3 Steps painting.. it was too much.. this looks easier...

WE have similar doors, we tried to get a new custom door but it would take 6 to 8 months. So, we decided to just repaint the old one. Thanks for all the tip. Hope our's comes out as nice as your's.

Just got a new fiberglass door. Love the door, but it's white. Too late in the season to paint it now.. but I'm definitely going to change that color.

I ALWAYS use small brushes fir narrow areas..so much easier

I have almost the same door and now it looks horrible because of the sun and weather. I am going to try this method. What did you use to wash te door down with before you started painting?

Glad I happened upon your video. I have a similar door setup, and want to spruce up my front fiberglass door and panels. How is it holding up and how much paint do you figure it took to do your project there?

Dave, it's still holding up...looks just like it does in the video. No cracking or anything. Remember, we used leftover waterproofing stain and sealer from our 5 gallon can (not regular paint). Let us know how your project turns out. Thanks for watching! -DIYPC 😃

Hi there, I had a door kind of look like this, at night people outside can see through because is bright inside due to turning light on, I can see clear through out the glass and so is outside seeing through inside. Any help???

Yes, 1. keep the door open until it dries or it will stick to the inside threshold 2. Use long paint strokes whenever possible to minimize having a "weird" look in different places 3. Use exterior paint...it makes a big difference after the sun hits it or after a hard rain 4. Take your time and know that - YOU CAN DIY TOO! Please let us know how it goes. Best, DIYPC

The paint still looks better than the original coating. We had a little peeling around the window trim in the same spot as before.

I was told by a worker at Home Depot that you had to have fiberglass doors custom painted with a special spray paint if you purchased an unfinished fiberglass door. I'm glad to see your door as well as a few others I've seen came out beautifully. I'm hopeful. Thanks again for the content.

This was a custom color shown in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qI2Nt66YhpvKkdo.html Paint formulated for metals may work and last longer for your door.

You only needed to paint it and not solid stain it because it’s a fake wooden door

It looks like a homeowner painted the door...

Fibreglass is a resin, almost like a plastic coating. Timber fence stain will never last long on this. Looks great on vdo, but in reality, will look crap again in very short time. Acrylic will never adhere well, unless a special primer has been used. Like your enthusiasm , but you are giving false advice to the DIY watchers. NB : fibreglass repairs are my trade, so this is just my opinion . .not a criticism

Thanks for your feedback. Surprisingly, the fence coating is holding up well. It seems thicker than a stain.
