I ALMOST teared up when you talked about your kids. Know the feeling all too well - but unlike you - mine are all grown up. Still a tight family but those days are gone. Either way, I know the feeling well. Refrigerators are total nightmares to get in a home. And yes, I learned the hard way that you have to be super careful about which one you choose to get inside the house :)

Great job as usual! I can’t tell whether you had a soft brace on under your shirt, but please by all means protect your back by wearing a heavy duty, leather back brace when carrying, pushing, pulling extremely heavy items along with safety gloves to protect your hands.. When I’m in Costco, Walmart, and I see young guys lifting and pulling heavy items on those pallets,I always warn them. I can’t help it.When you’re young, you don’t feel it but later on it catches up. This is why i have 2 fridges, one in my garage, and a counterdepth kitchenaid in my kitchen. I did all the measurements before making a purchase. Turns out that the regular depth would barely fit through my front dor even with the doors removed. I had no choice but to go with a counterdepth model, and even though it would fit throigh my entry door with the doors on it. I still tok them off to make tge unit lighter to move, and keep the doors from getting any dings or sctarches while moving it. Had a friend that did not do his measureing, bought a fridge. It was delivered but best buy just left it in the dining room, reason why was it was too tall to fit under the cabinets that were above the fridge. I just took the 2 cabinets off tge wall, and put them in the garage as there was nothing to cut off at the bottom. I may reinstall them an inch higher up, but would look crappy as not being in line with the other cabinets. Whirlpool is a great brand. My kitchenaid looks identical to your whirlpool, kitchenaid and whirlpool are the same companies. So folks do your homework before purchasing. Measure space fridge is going into as well as all doors you will be moving it through to get it to your said location.

Refrigerators are way too big these days. I ordered one of those Samsung bespoke refrigerators with the custom colored panels a few years ago. I have a pretty wide front door/entry threshold, but the refrigerator would not fit so they had to go through my backyard, take the doors off, and it still barely fit through my patio doors. I love that refrigerator, but I worry if I ever move, I might have to just leave it for the next owner.

@@DIYPowerCouple - Samsung said their records said it was sold to Home Depot, Home Depot did provide multiple receipts but it didn’t help. Samsung said send them the original receipt, and I did, Samsung said it was a copy, and not the original. When the warranty lady said bluntly that it would cost me more to sue them than the refrigerator cost, it became clear to me why they had asked me if I was a lawyer early on. This was a calculated move to deny warranty vlaims.
