If you use the fireplace, I recommend a Slurry (Romabio), paint gets dirty and will need redoing often.

This fire pit is one of a few covered pits that is on the list kzread.infoUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM of approved products for Disney Fort Wilderness. The product served its purpose well and provided excellent fires throughout the evening. We were able to open the door and do s'mores, but I had to be careful because the handle was a bit hot on occasions. Additionally, I wish they had replaced some of the standard nuts with lock nuts in some places. We lost the door handle after just a couple of days of usage. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation. I still give it 5 stars.

I would love to redo my fireplace and I was thinking of doing a style like yours. So what I need to know is what type of wood you used and what is the thickness? I don’t know anything about woods so I’m a bit lost in that area. Can you please help me with my questions? Thanks in advance 😊

Did you use actual wood panels or ship lap? It looks like wood spaced evenly and it was probably cheaper than ship lap if I had to guess.

How did you hook up the electrical wiring or did you hire someone to do that?? Beautiful job btw!

I have a brick fireplace very similar that I’ve been wanting to cover with shiplap. How did you attach the framing to the brick? Lag bolts?

We used concrete screws to attach the frame to the brick. Good luck on your project. Thanks for watching. 😊

How did you get the 2x4 to attach to the brick? I'm struggling.

Tapcon screws, unless the brick crumbles. Then use HILTI shots. Good luck!

I am not trying to be rude in any way. The work itself looks great. When I saw the wall before paint, i thought wow that is gorgeous and really matches with the flooring in the room. Maybe stain the wood a slight color darker and add a satin polyurethane coat to it. Then I saw the paint going over the wood and thought dear lord no! Again, not trying to be nasty in any way. It looks really nice, but it needs some color to highlight it and stand out. As of now, it looks like a hospital room or a project has been primed and ready for paint.

There's not one video online that i can find that refaces a full brick fireplace and shows what they used to attach the wood to the front.... and you skipped that part. Lol

Sorry about that. We used a concrete drill bit to make pilot holes in the brick. Then used masonry screws to attach the frame. Good luck on your project! Hope it turns out 👍

I've got a brick hearth that the last owner painted over and I really wish it was still bare. Painted brick looks super tacky imo
