Easy DIY Table Saw Infeed Extension

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is an easy DIY in-feed extention to add to your table saw. This will make your woodworking projects easier and safer when working with longer baords. I made mine for a Dewalt jobsite saw but this build would work an just about any table saw. In my opinion, this table saw fence upgrade increases accuracy and saftey as well.

I've been watching 'infeed support' videos all morning and I've got to say that I think that your video is the best. I love your design and your 'teaching instructions' have made it simple to construct. Thanks for the video.

Great job. If I hadn't had so many small hoarded MDF scraps, I'd have used sheet plastic too!

Great idea Ray! I just added (last week) the UHMW polypropylene board (24 in) to my fence. Great upgrade. I am going to upgrade my router table fence in the future and will use the existing fence material and upgrade to your design. Thanks.

I enjoyed your presentation - very well done. I believe you would have made a great teacher as well. I made one of the UHMW boards to my existing table saw fence (Laguna fusion) a year or so ago but I forgot to change the measuring tape to accommodate the added width to my fence. Thanks for bringing that up in your video.

Thanks for putting this video out on YT. This is a great idea and I think very helpful for longer narrow boards. Another challenge with the Dewalt saw is when using a cross cut sled. The in feed area is still too short. Have you any solutions for that? I have a similar cart to yours and am trying to figure out a way to install an in feed support behind the runner grove on the left of the blade to thus better support my cross cut sled. Thanks!

Good video. I've been trying to figure out something exactly like you show. Do you think this can be done with some 3/4" birch plywood?

Thanks. That would probably work. Just make sure it’s flat. Good luck!

@@Ray_Here thanks for reply. Yea the square & flatness of plywood may be a issue. I was just trying not to spend $60 if I could do it with what I already have. Thanks again

I’m attaching two videos. One is a general upgrade to my stand. The other is an infeed support for the crosscut sled. Hopefully one will help you. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p3ZqyZJ7nbCwcpM.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqVk2JRsnKq_YNY.html

"Deflection" is the very reason to not make this with "Nylon"

I can’t argue your point. I’ve really not had it be an issue though. You just have to be mindful that if you push too hard against it, deflection is a possibility. Thanks for your opinion!
