Hey Liz, looks like you're pretty pumped for the trip. Hope you have a blast. Don't know if you've seen this guy's channel, but check out Minimalist Overlander. His whole purpose was to keep his vehicle looking completely "stock" on the outside so that if he was parked in a neighborhood it would draw any attention. His two most recent videos are very good. One thing he decided to do was have limousine tint applied to them instead of curtains. Again, to keep the vehicle from looking like a camping vehicle. He also put something called Kilmat down on the floor. It's main job is to reduce noise but I'll bet it also works like a sleep mat and reduces ground dampness. Have a fantastic trip!!

Great video! I did something similar a few years ago with my jeep. I actually went to the fabric store with a patch of Velcro and tried sticking it to every material until I found one that stuck to the Velcro on it’s own. Saved a lot of pain with the sewing. Love the platform and setup.

I re did my suv and I do have storage below but lose head room. So keep that in mind. You can always add a storage box on roof for more space. Weather tech sells customs window coverings, no need for curtains. Just put in your vehicle. They are pricey but worth it. If going out in hot weather grab nets for windows.

Perfect! The only thing I would add to it is a Taser that is easy to reach. Better ZAP! than sorry.

Nice job. You could just put a cot on top of that to give storage under the cot. For my van I have a 12v Coleman cold/hot box. It can refrigerate or keep things warm. It is very nice but, can kill the vehicle's battery over night so, I only run it while the engine is running. Cheap fleece throw blankets work for curtains and keep you a little warmer. I hang my curtain from behind the front seats but, throw the curtain over the seats. If its going to get cold, you can get a 12v heating pad or electric blanket and a battery jumper but that gets expensive. Use the jumper to power the 12v accessory instead of the car's battery. My wife was often cold in the car so I got her a 12v heating seat cushion. She was skeptical but learned to love it. A small camp toilet and a wash pan will be convenient. Have a safe trip. I use a tent fan clipped to ceiling garment hooks. They keep the are moving and the windows don't fog.

Took me years to discover that reflective works perfect to cover windows.. Home Depot sells it by the roll… if you cut it correctly it will just stay in the window without magnets or Velcro

Jeep looks awesome! I’m on a LLBean air mattress, seriously want to get memory foam. 5 of my window covers are reflectix plus black duct tape. Future plans-2 black pillowcases that will end up being curtains with bungee cords & a front window shade because summer is coming. Trucks at the Wally World Campground are my white noise😂. Sounds like a fun trip! I started doing this in a Chevy Blazer with a friend and then my Ford Ranger... then bought a pop up camper,, then switched to an 18' travel trailer,, then got a 36' fifth wheel. Last year downsized to a slide in bed truck camper and love it the most out of any travel situation I've ever done. Road trips rock! Saw so many concerts doing the rv life

Nice job. I’ve also seen some nice rooftop tent setups that work well for jeeps. Although, not exactly stealth if that’s what you’re going for.

I used the two way black poster board from the dollar tree and cut the templates for the windows and they wedge in the windows pretty good without using any kind of velcro or anything then just pull em out and put em under the mattress during the day. It works pretty and quick to just pop in and out of the windows.
