Hello James. Once again I was mesmerized by the beautiful images in this latest film of yours. The search for light and shadow and the pictures they allow you to paint are a pleasure and a profound journey into the interior of the human soul. Thank you very much, once again, and I look forward to another production. Good sunday!

First of all, thank you for handling the camera - your "steady hand" when you film from a standstill is so typical and remarkable. This gives the viewer enough time to relax and enjoy the moving scenes. (By the way: did you not use a tripod here either?) This video contains very interesting insights into this part of Tokyo with the resulting great photographs. A special motif at 0:52 or this one at 1:46 with the many confusing lines that seem to touch each other. At 3:08 I had to smile because the name "Grimm" is very well known here in my country for a traditional bakery. Maybe they have a branch in Tokyo? Next time you pass by there, you can maybe ask if they are from Germany ;-). 6:07 also a very nice picture at night with the moving train on the bridge. And I also like the film perspective at 6:34 ! 7:48 a great picture! Oh, and last but not least, I would also like to mention that I really like this "peephole" perspective at 8:17 :-). You don't see something like that every day ;-). Once again a very nice choice of background music! Hope you're well, James. Best wishes from Europe - Monika

Thanks! And nope, no tripod! The camera has some nice built in image stabilization, so fortunately I’m able to shoot all these videos handheld 😁 I would hate to have to carry a tripod around all the time 😅 And if I ever walk by that bakery again, I’ll ask! Of course, after I get something to eat there first! 😆 Have a great weekend, Monika!

I think these cameras give to the Japanese city life a bit less modern look, a touch of the past, as if there was a premonition of a more difficult time ahead.

Tokyo is an interesting city. In some areas, like Shibuya or Asakusa, the city is vibrant and teeming with life. However, if you walk a few blocks away, you can find communities like the ones I visit in these videos that are decrepit, quiet, and even somewhat bleak. It's a very stark contrast that is fascinating to explore. Thanks!
