East Lancashire Railway - Legends of Steam - 15/03/24

The power of three at the East Lancashire Railway, with a display of three giants of the mainline along the line, with LNER A4 Class 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley', BR Britannia Class 70000 'Britannia' and LMS Jubilee Class 45690 'Leander'.
The event marks 60007's first visit to the line since returning to traffic in 2022. It also marks 70000's first public appearances since returning from repair work at Crewe, following a failure on a tour at Chilworth in August last year. As for 45690, the Jubilee has been based on the line since last year, with the locomotive's mainline ticket having ended in 2023. With 45690's boiler ticket due to expire in May, this event will be one of her last before withdrawal for overhaul.
Also featuring in the event was Lancashire & Yorkshire 23 Class 752, running under the guise of Horwich Works Shunter 11305.
