Here is a how to video that shows how easy the installation can be with the Schaller Hannes bridge. This bridge requires perfect alignment from the front to the back, and many guitar builders shy away from this awesome fixed bridge. We show you how easy it can be with the right tools. If you are new to guitar building…our videos will give you all the knowledge you need to be successful. Of course, you will need some basic woodworking ability…and at least some tools as needed.

    Thanks. I prefer not to do videos with topics that have been beat to death. But that is hard to keep doing. This is a cool bridge that I was once intimidated to install because of how perfect the alignment needs to be. Not anymore.

    Lord knows we love the OBAPs (off body alignment pins) they make life so much easier because you never get the templates off the center line... no mate how many times you swap the templates. oh yeah, and that is one swanky looking bridge too.

    Killer vid Steve...I've only played a Hannes bridge equipped guitar once, but it was enough that I knew if/when I have you make me another guitar, I would like that bridge so I'm glad to see you offer them now! That's looking like it's gonna be a super "Super Strat". So many "super strats" have tremolo bridges and I think I'd more prefer a hard tail, so this one is looking pretty good so far!

    Can you talk about how you ground this bridge? I am doing an installation and have everything mostly fitting, I've drilled a hole from the string base plate on the rear into the cavity - is it enough to simply "squish" a grounding wire under the base plate? Do I need to remove the finish where the grounding wire is? Any guidance would be useful!

    When that bridge first came out I thought it was beautiful and unique and I was ready to put it in…and then I found out about the lil pieces you can loose simply when changing strings so I never did it. Then I saw a lot of people routing out a step down on the bodies just to make things align with the fretboard. It seems like complete overkill to hard tail bridge simplicity. I could only see this be worth it on a balls out high end rare wood build and mainly just for esthetics. Since you have one, is it worth it?

  • @maximumguitarworks

    @maximumguitarworks

    This is actually my first guitar I am installing this bridge...so I'm not the one to ask about is it worth it. I will let you know my thoughts when done. I will tell you that the fit and finish to amazing...I like that the saddles are super friction reducing (made by graphtech), I like the fact that the front and back pieces are sandwiched around the body...very solid. I also like how smooth the surface is for hand resting comfort. It is a premium product for sure. To me...it is worth a try. And if I was going to try it...I wanted to make sure that the front and back parts would be dead perfectly aligned...hence the template system.

    @@maximumguitarworks it looks great and I bet it feels great and with your templates it’s the easiest way to go. At the end of the video when you show it off mounted, I wonder if you’re going to have to inlay it in the body to match the neck for height/action like a lot of others seem to…
