    You just got a new subscription here. I love earth x i read it in 2004. I was shocked to see what happened to all of the heroes especially my favorite Spider-Man.... but im glad he became a comic and got himself together. And mayday as venom was cool too. Most people didn't even finish the entire trilogy. Earth x, universe x and paradise x.

    I haven't gotten to Universe X yet, but I'm excited to check it out. I'm also told that "Spider-Cop" comes from this series too, so that's another feather in the Earth X universe's cap.

    @@MysticalGreenBeanie that's right. The real spider-cop. Officer parker. I don't like that insomniac Spider-Man ps4/ps5 joke. It's nonsense honestly. I can't recommend universe x enough. Paradise x the final part was decent. I believe the earth x saga was supposed to have more parts but unfortunately it was halted due to low sales. Once you read paradise x you'll see what I mean. There's A LOT left unfinished and unanswered. Read the spidey special for universe x absolutely amazing.

    This comic, to me, is very weird in terms of Iron Man. He is treated as this broken and hyper-serious genius that wants to have every single detail in control from the shadows. That feels very Batman-ish and I find it jarring. I thought that mfs thing was him using his suit as a way to escape reality and eventually finding hapiness in his own skin. Maybe this is what separates this comic from Kingdom Come; while KC evokes adoration for classic DC, Earth-X deconstructs the characters completely, AND BOTH ARE PERFECTLY FINE FOR DOING SO.

  • @MysticalGreenBeanie

    @MysticalGreenBeanie

    I'll dedicate a video to KC one day. But the thing I like about Earth X isn't that it's deconstructionist in nature. In fact, I don't see it as a deconstruction at all. If anything, it feels like "the next chapter" that we'll never see in the Marvel Universe, because American superhero comics are perpetually stuck in their "iconic status quo".

    Marvel never stopped being political, specially in the 2000s, so that desire to tackle heavy themes was present and even increased by the events at the time. So...what do you mean exactly? Some of the comics that complement Secret Invasion are horrorific, in the good sense. At the same time, Kang Dynasty is touching on that hopelesness in battling an entity with god-like powers. (Kurt Busiek's Avengers is amazing!)

    The reason why Earth-X isn't remembered is because the art isn't all that great honestly it's kind of all over the place really when people want it Marvel to do their own version of Kingdom come which by the way Kingdom is better than Earth-X don't get blown up lol. It was actually trying to tell a story using the book of Revelations unlike Earth X that really was just saying here's a potential dark future for Marvel. It didn't really influence anything for Marvel after while Kingdom come influence the world of DC Earth X didn't influence the world of Marvel that's why it's not remembered it has too many writers and it has too many people on there while Kingdom come which had Mark Waid and Alex Ross Bam Boom that's it. You know what I'm saying nothing was really remembered besides the beautiful covers that Alex Ross did because yes why you mentioned some of the stuff that happened in Earth X all of that stuff happened later on in the Marvel universe after people forgot about Kingdom after people forgot about Earth-X. Like the story wasn't influenced on anything nothing happened so when that story came out the Marvel landscape was the same nobody really was like Oh yeah Earth X it's great it's not remembered because it's it doesn't really have interesting artwork and the story really wasn't all that interesting It was just there to be our answer to Kingdom Come which that's fine but it needs to say something and honestly it really didn't say much of anything that was interesting especially when we all ready had alternate reality stories telling Marvel history better than what Earth exits trying to do. That's why Earth-X is remembered It just didn't do anything interesting that people care about It didn't change anything it's just like okay here's the story okay it's out All right great that's it most people I talk to about Earth ex they were like oh yeah those beautiful Alex Ross covers too bad the book didn't look like that At least if you had Alex Ross you probably could have had more people reading the book.
