Early Ludlum m3 repair.

This maybe come a series of digging in and repairing a meter.
Importantly this video showing the beginning tear in, and opening the gauge.

    Your video is very helpful for me learning how to get access to the dial indicator of my model 2 which looks like the same setup you show here. Mine has the needle frozen in one position, I can move it a little by bumping the case, but it doesn't move at all when turned on or with a radiation source (but is working as per audio). Do these ever need lubrication inside? Is replacing them the best option for this situation? A phone call to Ludlum said the movement costs $118. I have 5 other Ludlums, but none that I can cannibalize since they all function.

    They should not require lubrication for the perceivable life of the unit. But they operate similarly to a watch movement using synthetic ruby bushings. So very light lubrication can help at times. The problem may not actually be the gauge but rather the gauge driver, does the unit operate in battery check?

    @@jamesluck2969 Does not move when conducting a battery check, needle is frozen at around 1mr'hr. Doesn't move from its position in any mode, nor does it return to zero when turned off. Just seems like it is stuck.
