Those pigs are so dark colored. The ones on my place are light colored like the belly on yours. I’m in NE Ohio on PA line. I love hunting whistlepigs but not nearly as many around as in 80-90’s.... thanks to me!!! Haha

Bang bang... lol that second chuck really had impressive wound channel. I wish I could do some varmint shooting nearby in my area. I only have ground squirrel but I can't shoot because of my location.

I’m gonna get one for sure. I took the last chuck to the taxidermist. He weighed 11lb 6oz. It’s a good way to compare them for sure.

@@ChuckinTV f .220 swift unless reloading. only holds 5 grain more h2o big f'n deal. 22-250 all day if going beyond 300yd use some 65grainer boat tails with higher B.C.

Oh and the 1:12 twist has some loads that will stabilize 65grainers too. Was reading this in long range hunting forum last night.

@@Matt-xy6cf The 53gr Varm has a b.c of .303 which is the higher than most 60+gr bullets. I have the advantage of the higher b.c and velocity with this bullet. My longest hit was at 550yds last year. But it does struggle against the wind at 300+yds. If I'm looking to really get the distance, I'll step up to the 6.5.

@@ChuckinTV I see . Must be nice to have the room to shoot those distances. Im in valpo indiana and even though it is farm land 10mi south , i do not know anyone . My buddy ryan in lowell knows some farmers but on gps maps no real long shots are available by him unless going south of rt2 farms where there are 10000acre farms vs 100acre more by him. Yea i want the new savage elite precision 300prc that comes out soon!

Right on!! I just picked up a savage 110 .22-250 and plan on whackin chucks up to 300ish yards. Any suggestions on optics around $500? FFP or SFP? Any suggestions on how high of zoom?

A Leupold Vx-Freedom 6-18 comes to mind because I've been considering getting one myself. It is right at 500 and only weighs 17oz. I've always liked Leupolds myself. I have the Sightron 4-20x50 on this which was about 400. It is a perfectly good scope but the clarity on 20x is nothing to write home about. Vortex makes some good ones in that price range as well. As far as FFP vs SFP, that's all on your personal preference. I can take or leave FFP because I don't use the reticle for my holds.
