I can’t believe you got all of those screws out without at least one breaking! I need to do this to my doors some day. I bet that door will be lighter now!

Yes, it's the little wins that make life easier, Spray the day before and again before removing with R1.

Picked up a 1973 FJ40 and the doors are in great condition but all the rubbers are perished. Also need to fix one of the windows to wind up/down. Look forward to see how you restore them. Really appreciate your channel.

@@40ChannelCruiser as being new to FJ 40s I am starting to build up a list of suppliers to source parts. Most have been very prompt to despatch. Sadly I came across one that after 3 weeks still haven’t sent the parts. If you could point me in the direction to source the rubbers would be greatly appreciated. The front windscreen rubber is rock hard and split just like one of the videos you made on Sam.

Is shipping free for the original Toyota rusted metal ? With Australian dust? 😂, Minus the dead bug skeletons 🐜 🐛 🐞 Great video, can’t wait to see it all reassembled,

Interesting. Would you then be able to drive around with the top off and those half doors?

This was not uncommon for the FJ40 and BJ40 for the top off and half doors. I have seen it done but not in Australia for the utes.

Sweet! Have a ‘68 heading my way soon and was contemplating buying separate doors just for when the top is off! Thx for the replay and video!

How long does it take you to restore this early 40 so that I have an idea of how long it's going to take me to restore my 64 FJ40?

I was wondering if I purchased a 45 from Australia, is it easy to change the right hand drive to a left hand drive?

Sorry, I have no idea about swapping from right to left-hand drive. All the ones I've seen imported from Australia to States have been kept right-hand drive.

@@40ChannelCruiserThanks. I was asking because there are not that many 45's in the USA and I'd like to get one at some point.
