Earl Grey Tea Loaf Cake (Mary Berry Recipe)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This lovely loaf cake, made with Earl Grey Tea and lots of currants and sultanas is simply delicious. It is especially good with some butter spread on a slice to be enjoyed with a cup of tea. From a recipe by Mary Berry it is very good indeed.

Hi Caz. You are welcome.
It looked great, so I followed your instructions and made it myself, but with muscovado sugar since I happened to have that at home. It's truly delicious just as it is, without any butter on. I sliced it and put it in the freezer, just taking out a few slices at a time for my morning coffee. So thank you - it's really worth making. Virtually fat free, except from the 20 grams of fat in the egg yolk.

Hi Susannah. You are welcome. Mary is a bit of a treasure.
I like Earl Grey tea loaf. I've made the BBC good food recipe a few times. Today I made a jam and cream sponge cake for my birthday 😂 🎉 🎂 🎈

Oh yes, I am forever loafing around.
I'm going to use ordinary tea as earl grey doesn't suit me.. I'm sure it will be fine.. Thanks Geoff 💕

Hi Henrietta. Oh yes any black tea will be great, though perhaps not Lapsang Souchong since it is very smoky.

Yorshhire tea it is then... 😂😂😂
How many tea bags did you use?

HI Martin. I used two tea bags, but say in the written recipe you can make the tea as strong as you like. The quality of the tea/tea bags will also affect how much you might use.
