Memories rush back in and I am 10 all over again. It's a smooth smooth groove to be here with you in 24.
I am African American born in 1966 and grew up in the 70s and 80s color was blind in music lyrics and instruments were the only base we used..I love the Eagles .Chicago .. Fleetwood Mack...Barry White...Isley brothers....i could go on and on... the whole era... everything about those days were beautiful to me ..wish I had a time machine I go back forever

What a beautiful time to be alive when color didn't matter and great music was made and people danced with eachother! I'm so jealous of everyone that got to grow up in that time it was so much simpler. I was born in 1993 and my mom and dad said I'm an old soul and that as much as I love everything about the 60s 70s and 80s they said I would have fit in great back then

@user-vg3yc6gk5f
Ай бұрын
@ZoeyKnows Well, Joe is certainly a great guitar player too. They have different styles that blended together very well on the songs they played together on. But I do think Don was the guitar backbone for the Eagles. It's unfortunate that the two Mega egos didn't really want to have a band, just backup players for them. This song proves how stupid that mindset was. At least Don got some of what was coming to him through the courts. But we got robbed of a lot more music that we should have had.

Just stunningly beautiful - the blend of Timothy's sweet voice with the bass-line and the layering of the instruments enveloping the melody is just the sweetest outcome: I was at Co-op Arena in Manchester last Saturday, 1 June 2024, for Eagles "The Long Goodbye" tour and they were simply sublime. This is one of my favourite tracks. An evening I will treasure for the rest of my life. I'm 60 now and this sort of music still makes my heart leap with joy!

Well said. I went to Wildwood New Jersey in 1972 with my best friend to (try to) see Yes. We had no tickets, lol. So there we are sitting on the boardwalk outside the theater as the warm-up band began to play. Just then we were able to score some tickets from a scalper. I had no idea who the band was, but I was absolutely blown away right from that moment and for the hour or so they played. We got to our seats halfway through the first song. The song was Witchy Woman and the band...well, that's obvious! They were every bit as good as Yes, which is really saying something. That began my love affair with the Eagles that has lasted to this day.

Who can't or doesn't appreciate the fact music pre-2000 was frankly at a whole another level. @@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 Because Felder tried for a long time to have Frey & Henley make him a full-fledged partner in the band, as he deserved, but the selfish pr*cks screwed him over. The song "Heartache Tonite" is about a near fistfight that almost happened between Frey & Felder.

Yes, it truly is…Those of you with children should expose them to it. The Eagles music was accidentally left in rotation for 30 years which caused many new gens to believe it was new music. If only we could get a radio station to play nothing but feel good songs for those who are coming behind us. Thank you “Eagles” that was no accident, that was intentional and no one corrected it for over 30 years! When it’s brilliant it’s simply brilliant and the love and feelings you experience from listening to this can really make you feel better…🌹🎶

I really believe the "sweet spot" for American rock and roll was from 1973-1982. Early in that period you had Allman Bros Band, Doobie Bros Skynyrd,. Steely Dan Grand Funk Aerosmith. And in the latter part of that period you had the cars van halen Journey, REO, ZZ top. But in the sweet spot of the sweet spot there were EAGLES. An alpha male band, with great vocals, harmonies, lyrics, guitar wok etc. Their over sized egos actually were overshadowed by a huge amount of talent. And at the end of the day, even 50 years later. there simply is no comparison. The soundtrack of GenX.

I was watching a pretty lame 60 minutes documentary about the 2019 tour and they were rehashing all the breakups and everyone kept mum during the interview section and Joe Walsh was typically very meek and self effacing while you could tell Frey, Felder and Henley still walk around with towering egos. I swear I can see why Walsh escaped into drugs and alcohol with all that competition between those three guys about who the real "stars" of the Eagles were.
