For me it looks to be exactly what im after from a Rally game it doesnt bother me if its 100% sim or not i just want a really fun rally game with a decent career mode and this seems to be delivering exactly that i cant wait!

I think some more sim focused fans might take issue with how grippy the front end can be or maybe how stiff a lot of the suspension feels, which is fair, but for me I'm perfectly happy with the sim-lite/simcade model and ultimately it just felt FUN to drive, which is key!

100% I think a lot of sim racers lose sight of having fun over realism, and let's be honest, reality kind of sucks. Bending the rules to make it more FUN is always a win in my book, and this is exactly what made me love DR2.0, tough, fair, but oh so satisfying and fun when you get in the groove and connect with the car. Looking forward to more of that in this newest game and THANK GOD they continued VR support.

This! Beamng is my go-to driving/racing/whatever sim and it's bar none compared to other titles in regards to how real it feels. That said, while it's big fun, most of the times I'm hyperfocused trying to keep tabs on everything because of how accurate of a sim beam is and, well, sometimes I just want to lay back on the couch and have fun - this is where games like Dirt and whatnot come in. I've been having so much fun replaying Dirt 3, it's exactly what I want out of a sim-cade. Can't wait to try WRC!

​@@HokiHoshias long as there are proper inertia and powerslides I'm fine, regarding grip levels... IRL these cars accelerate in less than 3 seconds 0-60, on gravel... so grip levels are actually not that low IRL as some ultra hardcore sim fans tend to believe. Numbers don't lie.

If this game comes out complete with no major complications/controversies, it will go down in history tbh

I was just thinking of how Forza Motorsport completely ignores everything surrounding the racing itself. The difference in approach here is soooo big. I mean come on! Team logo, crew, custom car, holy smokes I want that! I know it's circuit vs rally, and I don't necessarily want to thumb through mechanic resumés, but not even being able to pick a helmet separately from suit in Forza just looks so poor in comparison.

A lot of what WRC is offering for its campaign is REALLY close to what I was hoping the new Motorsport would deliver. Like if you look back at the first reveal trailer: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aJaapY-vps_IeMY.htmlsi=E5E_3EQLRvxYteNT it seems like they were going for a sort of team management mechanic or something, but none of that is actually there :(

I completely agree. The builder's cup in the new forza motorsport is such a let down, it feels like a grind. If they had options to create a race team, manage sponsors and use this funding to buy cars and parts while also having to pay for maintaining and fixing cars it would make the meta layer of the game so much more interesting.

This looks like an actual finished, feature complete product. Forza 8 is anything but that. The difference is frankly shocking and shows just how little thought, polish and content went into forzas 'reboot'. The fact that this is an EA game is bewildering to me. We live in a timeline now where EA seemingly is putting out a better product than turn10 :S

Me too. I couldn't finish the test with the Skoda at night and rain since I was only 6 years old. My dad tried it for hours until he finally made it 😅 Ah, good times back in 1998.

Codemasters games always look decent with some great lighting. But gameplay and sound design are always brilliant.

My concern is the decision to not redo the physics from the Dirt games. Rather than actually programming grip on different surfaces, they have chosen to keep the artificial slide physics and tweak them so they are not as apparent maybe like DR2.0. From the footage i have seen, it seems the back tires are still sliding out when they shouldn’t. It is more obvious on paved roads from the footage but i suppose they have moved the center of rotation rearward a touch and gave more grip to the tires and thus people are reporting improvements to the tarmac physics but from any chase camera footage ive seen it still looks like the back is sliding when it shouldn’t. I will be waiting for the full release and some physics test videos to come out. The game looks and sounds great though. And the content looks good too. Im hoping for the physics to be good

The last DiRT game with a licensed soundtrack was DiRT 4 and it was a banger. So it doesn't surprise me that Codemasters have nailed the soundtrack again for this WRC game.

Coco Hayashi also played DiRT4 before. Its such a masterpiece like F1 2020, 2021, and 23.

The car builder is next-level and something that should be standard in most of these kinds of games, but I expect we will hardly ever see it elsewhere.

I've been thinking a lot of the same tbh. After seeing FM release without much content compared to previous titles, and a lot of half baked or re-used features, WRC is like a breath of fresh air with the variety of seemingly well thought out gameplay on offer.

It's awesome to see the game having this much content and features at launch, always wanted to play wrc but the other games never caught my attention. Gonna keep an eye on this one for sure.

I just got into racing with a wheel and like DR2 and had no idea a new game was coming. Might have to get this!

Is it so? Why you so sure about this? Dirt Rally 3.0 with offical WRC cars and stages it would dream comes true. But I dont rise my expectaitions too hight at this moment. Its only first of five attempt of Codemasters, and we dont really know persent of their impact.

I only played it for about 15 minutes on controller, but it felt great! I know it's only like 20 seconds of footage but the 2 clips of third person camera stuff in the Subaru was me playing with a controller!

my only problem, no catamarca stage from argentina, loved that one from dirt 2.0

The problem with some of these things, like the school, management and "moments", is that we more or less already had those with Kylotonn.

I was disappointed to see this game being announced at first, but WRC and DiRT being merged does certainly have potential, especially seeing as the latter franchise doesn't really have an identity anymore after the last two mainline games and DiRT Rally spinoff... Your video makes me have more hope for it, but I won't pick it up until I'm 100% sure that they aren't gonna pull out some weird microtransactions the moment the game launches or limited time fomo crap like other recent live services. This game has the potential to be an actually good live service that adds the next additional WRC year, but I want to wait and see how it is implemented before plunging in, especially seeing as I wanna catch up by playing older rally games (e.g. V-Rally series, Colin McRae before DiRT, Xpand, maybe Richard Burns?)

This sounds and looks great. Dirt Rally was uncontrollable, even with an Xbox controller, did not have a chance to try Dirt Rally 2 yet, but I'm hopeful this will work well.

This video has gotten me more hopeful for this game. As for the music, I will be loading up the Apple Music app on my Series X and playing Eurobeats while I play this. Lol

2.0 was perfect, everything felt super sim

last rally game i really enjoy is probably dirt 2 and the original vrally 2, i hate how rally games nowadays dont show you going on the podium like vrally 2 i loved it in vrally 2

The issue with the Moments not having any context is a problem in EA Sports NHL 24 too, so it seems to be a cross game problem.

I'm actually kinda surprised. From the subpar that is Dirt 5 to almost great of GRID Legends, and now EA Sports WRC (literally Dirt Rally 3.0). Just when I thought the racing genre's going nowhere since the NFS announcement, Codies are really cooking good stuff recently. Also the skull shifter, 10/10 racing game of the year.

Dirt Rally 2.0 didn't let you save replays, which greatly frustrated me. Does this new game allow you to watch them at a later date?

One thing i havent seen anywhere is if the game is only a DR 2.0 style Sim or it also has a Dirt4 simpler relaxed handling style ?

don't expect there will be one. the DR games didn't have it.

Many of the stages look too wide IMO. Some of the car sounds are way off. But still looking like a great merge of WRC and Dirt Rally. Exciting times.

I don't know what they are exactly called, but is it missing these "fan-stages" which are usually at the end? Like these arena type stages, which are even battles sometimes.

“Moments” was available in Sebastien loeb rally evo actually. Don’t think it was called moments though. I might (might) buy the game if it goes on sale but I don’t see myself buying at full price. My interest in Dirt over the years have dropped quite a lot since D4, but the build up here is getting to me 😂

My opinion based on reviews and KZread videos: Number of cars/specials, game mode: 10/10 Driving, car behavior: 8/10 Car modeling: 7/10 Graphics/Environment/Ambiance...: 6/10

Might be a early thought. But I wonder what sort of modding scene this game will have. Unreal is fairly mod friendly.

I guess it doesn't have head-to-head multiplayer, such as rally cross. That's a shame. I might get the game anyway. Love the custom building.

I'm glad they didn't go crazy with graphics, it always ends up with very poor performance and that's not acceptable in a fast racing game. I still think this game looks really good, especially atmospheric effects. I wonder what is the plan for next years, new releases or dlc with updated cars and more stages? That would be cool. Biggest complaint I hear is how grippy cars feel, but devs said there are settings to make it more arcady and none of the previews mention on what settings they are. Also gamers could just be wrong, irl people always say rally cars have insane amounts of grip. Anyway It's first game in years I preordered and I'm exited to play it, they got me with loyalty discount.

How similar is the sponsor management to what was in the original GRID? I loved that system, and I wish what the campaign here sounds like was available in a game with a format more similar to Forza Horizon. The moments sound awesome, as well, though I agree that we need the full details of the who and where for it to really be of much use. Anyway, as I watch this video, I can't help but find it odd that racing games are the ones I'm willing to throw the most money at, as I just find that there're certain cases where games are trying to introduce new features to make the games stand out.

idk about the rest of scenario but maybe for colin mcrae it probably was for the same reason they remove its name from the dirt2 title back in the day! aka legal issue

4:30 PLEASE tell me that we can do championship and single rallies with a mate through local multiplayer (NOT splitscreen). For example: I’m in a Toyota while my mate is in a Ford, and we do the stages one by one.

Paint on some cars, especially on replays, looks strange. Like the clear coat/ lacquer is not letting enough light pass though. Impreza blues looked better in Dirt 2.0 for example. Look too 'white' in this EA WRC.

Can't believe this is unreal engine 5 looks more like a lot older version. Game itself might be pretty good though.

I remain sceptical...of course there will be ALOT of paid DLCs, but my biggest concern is the performance...which is as of now very horrible even though the graphics look really bad and outdated.

Wait, did I heard Unreal Engine? They dropped EGO? On the other hand the previews of the game are very positive. Also if I’m not mistaken this game is below 60eur (53eur if I remember correctly). I wish Code Masters the best as we know what EA can do to studios they acquired.

Graphics is as important as the rest of a game

Kinda sad that a 20 year old rally sim still has the best physics. Would be great if codemasters took it a bit more seriously. I did really enjoy dr2.0 though despite this, the sounds, graphics and gameplay is very fun and engaging.

Limiting build-your-own-car to modern WRC is lame as heck. Was really looking forward to building a, like, 350HP AWD 131 monster.

Why is nobody mentioning which version of unreal engine, 4 or 5?

10:17 Aged quite poorly already, There will be more expensive editions when the game releases, Probably a bundle with the base game and a season pass, just look up the steam page right now. There is a roadmap with a "rally pass". So the game right now as it is, isn't the actual complete game. More content will come in seasons, like a live service type model. I'm pretty neutral about this... Except for the fact that you need to run Denuvo to run this game. Besides that It's not too bad.
