The 6.2 has a higher red line rpm once over the 5000 rpm. The 6.2 sound blows the 5.5 away. The 5.5 may sound deeper on cold start but thats it. The N/A 6.2 is a master piece on exhaust tone!!!!

definitely, just swapped my 6.2 for a 5.5 and that 6.2 note is sublime. the 5.5 isn't quite in the same league. Great for a turbo engine. but to be honest the c63s I had which was only 4 litre had a better, louder exhaust than the e63 s 5.5. the 4 litre popped and banged like guy fawkes day and was loud, really loud. the 5.5... nope. the one thing the 5.5 has going for it is more than 600 horsepower and > 800nm of torque (stock) on a rwd car, it is a proper brute. the rear wheels have no hope of any traction in any weather condition. the 4.0l c63s is the wildest car of the bunch. it always wanted to go sideways.

@@MandeepPanesarkenya Being loud with pops and bangs does not make it sound nice or beautifull. It just makes disturbing loud noise. Unnecessary when it doesn't have to most of the time. The 5.5 may not be loud, but it sounds pretty serious just like the M113K. The 6.2 is just legend but only stock. When tuned it becomes quickly loud noise. The 4.0 sound pretty shit compared to the big blocks.

I've had the 6.2amg on an ml, straight pipe from the cats... I haven't heard any car sound better than that yet. I have m278 now and have been checking videos on what m278/157 would sound like straight piped. It's nice but it can't compete with the m156.

the exhaust tune is definitely different on the e63 w211. it is very much more maserati than hot rod v8 IMO. I have a w211 e63, but will swap it for a w212 because I miss the playfulness of the newer AMGs

Boost changes everything. 6.2 has larger bore and larger valves and several improvements in it.

I thought round exhausts are for 53.
