No way this video came out a week after I did mine. Also, quick tip IMO: Since we are not reusing the OEM oil cooler shroud, I would use some aluminum tape connecting the oil cooler to the plastic panel by the bumper (this basically creates a shroud). If you have a gap between those two spots, air will go through it rather than through the cooler since it chooses the easiest path.
Nice video. Is it just me, or is the E46 M3 a pleasure to work on? Can't wait to see that M5 get some love too!

It really is, especially now that I know literally every single nut and bolt of this car, it's fun. M5 will be getting some love soon bro haha
Great edit!!

Thanks bro!
If you want the temp to go down or stabilize then the only solution is a hoodvent to extract the air. But that will kill the stock car. I track the car and that vent will keep water temp at 215. The radiator, oil cooler and thinner oil helps but ultimately you need more airflow and the vent at the hood's low pressure area will extract the hot air out. Trackspec hood vent
Sheeeeesh amazing 👏 😍 🙌
Following thinking about doing this same job but worries it would fix the temps from rising I’m in Vegas and only notice it once we hit 100 degrees plus

I'll be honest, this mod works but not as great as it may seem. But it works
Hey great videos and info what is the update on cooling system is it still overheating?

To be honest, it got better. Still however, if I'm in stop and go traffic, the car doesn't like anything above 90ish degrees. If I'm driving, A/C on and all, she behaves completely fine.
Am a bit confused about the engine temps you mentioned. 210 F equals 98 C which is no problem for oil temps ( I’m Metric). For coolant temps it could however be a bit lower. But it looks you point at the oil cooler as the culprit for coolant temps ? Or did I hear wrong ? In either case it is a good idea to improve cooling in general. Will do no harm for sure.
Update after installing the CSF? Good/Bad? My M3 temp guage creeps up a smidge/wiggles at stop lights. Goes back to normal temp (centerline) once the car starts moving...New CSF raditor, New BMW thermostat + Water pump + hoses. Less than 2000miles on it.

I'm in the exact same boat brotha.
Update on coolant temps? Did they drop? When redlining back to back do your temps reach the red zone?

Honestly, temps DID got down, but just a bit - not enough to my liking though. I converted to an electric fan shortly after that and still the temps are not down to my liking. Sooo I'm still working on it.
From the research I’ve done I’ve seen it’s best to put 10W-60 for oil
