I bloody love this car, its properly inspirational. My humble 2.8 compact can only look on in admiration!
I personally think Jay has the best job in the world! Literally gets paid (hopefully ) to work on cars and not only that, his best mates cars. So jealous! Another top vlog guys too!!
Gaz is a wizard 👏
I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight knowing the hidden seat mount looks crude.....😆. Honestly, everything you gents produce is artwork. 👍👍🍺🍺
You make a good point about the concept of spending considerable amounts of time (and money) on trying to make it look like it hasn't been modified too heavily. Makes good sense to me, but it probably does confuse people who prefer the Max Power shapes 🙂 Love that clip on track at the start of the video. It looks so dreamy to drive!

Couldn't agree more. Getting your seating position, wheel reach and angle and pedal positions sorted can make or break a build and how a car feels to drive. Awesome work as always chaps and thanks for taking the time to share it all with us lot!

That E30 M3 is just so damn cool ! I can't even imagine how much $$$ has been put into that thing, but I would do the same if I had the funding. It's basically a DTM car now and even more extreme with that motor. Damnit, I want an E30 M3 !
Such a perfect sitting car , all looks very precise and cherman. 👍👌 Great vid.

My fave E30. I absolutely love this car... I cannot think of anything i'd change about it.... Maybe the colour to red, but that would be about it. And nice work... That airbox looks very tidy.

gorgeous car!
Totally get spent loads of time and effort to make something look stock, making something look modified is easy as only the creator knows if it turned out like the vision in their heads, making it look stock is another league as everyone knows what a stock one looks like and can tell if you achieved it. Got to say I really enjoy you builds to two reasons; your cars make sense to me, I can understand what you’re trying to accomplish with each of them L and also you come across as relatable and you keep me believing that I could make something similar if I wanted. Keep up the good work
So good
Love the meticulous attention to every detail as always. So true, that even mm's and degrees make the different to fit, ability to be comfortable and safe. Its all worth it in the long run over half assing it and coming back time and time and time again. Not that half assing isn't also fun and sometimes necessary LMAO. Oh and can i have the old m3 intake LMAO
Looks awesome, great attention to detail. Would be great to see this at Castle Combe :-)

Just looked up some figures that could be comparable, in the 1991 DTM season, Steve Soper's qualifying time round Donington GP track was a 1m35s. Be very interesting to find out what the DW30 does.
Fantastic upload / update on the M3. I see you’ve mentioned about a Donnington Evening session this Thursday. I’m only 1 hour away & would love to come see the car out on track. Hopefully I can make it 🙂

Like all the projects but this one is my favorite 😎 And about seat and harness, spend five days killing myself with new sparco seat and harness and still not happy 🤦🏼♀️ worst thing before I had sparco evoL and old style 3"belts and I have now new sparco rev smaller one and 6point hans harness and ofc nothing fits from rails to harness mounts 😢 so i feel your pain 😅 Btw it is also e30 v8 drift/track project 😎
Where’s the extra bonnet clearance come from? Is the centre bump slightly deeper?

Greetings to you, please if possible I want to tell me the unique number of this paint placed on this car
Surely that rear decklid can be made more efficient. Nothing really stops doing that better, also the weight is very high up. Make the underside subtly like working wing and front a slightly more rounder. Then it is actual aero and not just a drag penalty. Hollow core carbon, through bladder molding, soluble print or any other of the many ways of doing this. Surely wont weight almost anything. Easily doable in region of 500 grams and with the end flap maybe 650grams. (not counting fasteners, paint nor lacquer, just pure weight in ready carbon composite)

I have a single skin carbon version on the shelf. The problem is the spoiler needs to mount to it and it sees some insane forces at speed.
@eedesign878
Жыл бұрын
@@driftworks So is it just plastic skinned with 1 layer of carbon or 1 layer carbon with absolute void inside? IF its former, it is useless as it is visual carbon and just as heavy. If its latter... You could scuff up (propably right english word) the existing carbon surface, then keep ends open so that it keeps normal atmospheric pressure inside. Then overlay several layers of carbon on top of the existing shape and vacuum them to that single layer. Only worry is collapsing under pressure and only 1 layer is really not much to be airtight for vacuum either. . What might be better option is to 3d scan your current for measurements, then make a 3d model (with wingprofile and metalmounting points for the extension), print it as hollow as possible, and then put 4-5 layers of carbon on top. You need to put screws on the mounting threads to avoid epoxy going into threads. I am located in Finland, but you have great carbon companies in the uk. I would maybe call easycomposites and ask for ”could you just”. They might be interested into collab. I can help with Fusion 360 designing any 3d printables, but since it is my work I have to get paid.
@eedesign878
Жыл бұрын
To add speculation to my last message... could the extension be integral part of the main wing? You would not need any metal hardware inbetween then but you lose also adjustability. Unless the whole main wing is also adjustable on attack. Anyway I am sceptic of how well the extension actually works. Angle is so steep for single level wing without endplates and without vortex generators that there will be almost certainly flow separation and turbulence and loss of downforce. Drag it does surely. But BMW had windtunnel back then, so what do I know, just speculation.
Whats that blue called mate its bloody trick!
Did anyone else think like me and I mean no offence Phil but when you said "my one bit of advice....." Phil was going to say "don't get fat" 😂😂
I hate fitting seats, seems so simple but a nightmare to get it just right
First look it looks exactly the same which is what you wanted
Time for some 8-1
Get it on track at players classic
would clear coat the airbox. let the carbon lookcome out crazy. now it looks a bit cheap after market..... no offence
Please make update on Lamborghini 🙏🔥😁😜

Upload is the easy bit. Properly stabilised 4k filming means you need a huge expensive camera, then transferring and editing and rendering requires a much more powerful computer and takes alot longer. I find it hard enough to make videos as it is. Sometimes to the point I almost can't be bothered, so I don't need any extra drama.

Car looks awesome minus your black wheels. Get rid of those and put in a set of nice BBS classic silver or bronze wheels. Black shows absolutely no shape or style of the wheels. I just don’t know why anyone puts black wheels on their cars anymore.
@driftworks
Жыл бұрын
I love black wheels, but I have been considering putting some gold and polished 3pc wheels on this car as I know it would look sweet.
So at £30 an hour thats about £6500 in labour for the front end lol
@driftworks
Жыл бұрын
Yep. It's why I could never do this for anyone else. The prices I'd have to charge would make people puke 😂
It's an amazing and beautiful car. Unfortunately the massive engine throws the car off the original balance to the heavier front end. Resulting in lesser traction in the dynamically lightened rear end. Hopefully the additional extention to the wing is enough. I would make a bigger wing in the back along the cues of F40 or Mercedes Evo 2. Stylistically it would make a lot of sense and appeal to the era period.

Incorrect. I guess you're new here and don't know how obsessive I am about that sort of stuff 😂. A standard M3 is 1237kg F 52.2% / 47.8%. Mine is 1343.5kg with 100kg driver weight in the car & F 51.77 % R 48.23%
