Oh my goodness! After yesterday‘s hopping all over the nest tree I had a feeling today would be the day. Even if it was on accident congratulations our dear E 23. ❤🦅🎉

guess sometimes it takes an “accident” but I wouldn’t call it “unsuccessful”. He flew & that’s a fledge. ❤❤

Well done E23, i watched you in live motion and even though it was accidental you did brilliantly. Then you returned to the nest after your little adventure to rest a while, finding your way back was easy for you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Way to go E23, even though it was an accidental fledge, you handled it perfectly, and you know to return to the nest tree. You certainly were not anxious, you got this little one, can't wait to see you at the pond💖

I couldn't see, did E23 get back to the nest tree? It looked like he/she went to the ground.....

@@kristintrossbach6320 You can go back in time in any live cam to see what you may have missed. E23 fell, then drifted down almost to ground, then flew to right, over to nearby tree to hang out for a bit. Eventually, flew back to nest tree and you can see this on Cam3, the 360 cam though it has no timestamp. E23 almost overshot landing on nest tree, and almost knocked Mom off, lol. But all is well, thankfully!

@@DLionheartl went back to live cam and didn’t see any of it. My 360 cam didn’t give me a view nor did the nest cam.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

@@pjb12025Cam360 shows return of E23 and is the only cam to have captured the return. I had moved the view from nest to branch where Mom was perched for a very long time. If one searches back in that cam, one can find the return of E23 there. Cam360 is very temperamental re going back in time with it - sometimes the wheel of doom just keeps spinning and cam view won't load. Patience and you will find it. ~Go back about -1:48:00 to see Mom - move the cam view to make sure you are looking at Mom who was above the nest... Then wait and you will see when E23 returns. The return was not captured on the other 2 cams. We can know the actual time of return re the squees! 🤣😉🥰

WOW! It’s great that E23 did her first fledge but however, I am so very happy she made it back to the nest and is resting too cause I’ve heard many stories that the traffic there isn’t very kind to Eagles or Eaglets who fly over the road. So, this pleases me that she made it back home.👏🏻👏🏻🦅🥳🎉🎊. I do however, hope she does take her time in doing it again and doesn’t rush to doing it again. Thank you SWFL Eagle Cam for the video. I think whichever parent was on the attic was alright with it happening or he or she would have gone after E23 to make sure she was alright. Really good point about the traffic

It reminds me a little bit of when the Moorings Park osprey, Victor, fledged last year. Everyone was terrified that he'd never figure out how to get back to the nest. E23 is a remarkable bird who will do just fine.

I've felt a weird need to compare E23 to E9 since E23 hatched and the other egg didn't. Now E23's just fledged by accident just like E9 did! At least E23 managed to get back into the nest must quicker than E9 did!

flip, flop, flap, fludge! i had a hunch it would be an accidental fledge, but i was thinking it E23 would tumble off in a wind gust, lol.

Owl struck E23 at 00:52 Sunday, E23 was seen on pond cam flying low toward west of nest tree, then again twice toward what appeared to be tree in front pasture west of nest tree. Seemed to fly okay, so hopefully not injured. Looking forward to seeing E23 on cams at daybreak. Prayers.

There have been photographers on the ground there for many a year. They respect and adore the eagles as do we. They have never bothered the eagles, imo. They have also been instrumental in sharing things we may never have seen were it not for them. So myself, I'm a fan of the photographers and am grateful to them too.😉 The eagles are used to the traffic - the vehicles and the humans both.

The eagles see the photographers pretty much everyday. I find it a bit comforting knowing there are people on the ground close by in case something goes wrong. If E23 landed in that traffic those people can stop traffic or assist quickly if E23 is injured in the fludge.

I'm thinking you must not have been watching a lot bec I've seen that E23 character winger-sizing like crazy, hopping and flying all over their nest tree - getting to different branches, etc, etc.. I've not seen this mostly "laying flat" myself. 🤣😉

​@@DLionheartI agree with you. Even at night, the little one is practicing sleeping perched. I will say that over on the Two Harbors nest last year, Anthony did spend a lot of time pancaking. He was very studious, though, and accomplished all his goals.

Yesterday near gator circle I seen a bald eagle and a greater spotted eagle with a few vultures!!

I seriously thought it was going to fly and land on the roadway. to bad during nesting season the speeds can't be lowered in that section

No one ran towards E23; they ran on sidewalk to find where E23 went. There are always photographers there and over the yrs - in my experience, they've never been known to disturb the eagles. No worries.

Awesome event. Plus E-23 defended his/her food from an intruder today also

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that was Mom trying to remove turtle shell from nest earlier, but E23 wasn't having that! MY turtle shell, mine!!! And then, E23 tried to cover it with nesting material. 🤣🥰

Mom was right there, perched on nesting tree branch - when E23 fell and still there, when E23 flew back.

@@heatherr8917No, E23 flew back to branch that Mom F23 was perched upon for a very long time. She was there when E23 fell after missing branch trying to get to from above, then she was still there when E23 flew back. You can see this via going back in time in the 360Cam.
