I hope that her Rison Harvey realizes you’re great and help to their company you have provided. I’ll forward this information to my local hobby shop. You’re the best! 😁 Best regards, Greg Coogle

    I am thinking about getting one of these too. I used to be in the Brighton Michigan RC club way back in my high school years with my father. I learn a lot and had a lot of fun with a lot of good people. One of the things we used to do I don't know if you guys do it looks like you put a rubber over the clevis. we would take like a little piece of blue line silicone fuel line and slide it on the control rods and then after the clevis is snapped you slide the rubber over the top of the clubhouse to keep it from opening up if you stress it in some acrobatics. I don't know if it's a problem but it just makes it bulletproof and we also tried to use the metal dubro clevises if we could just a little tip, it might help people. It may help you win the battle instead of taking home a bag of balsa wood or Styrofoam lol. Believe it or not I have seen plastic clevis snap. I like to fly high speed I used to overpower everything so it was like a flying rock lol, when you fly like that you're putting some pretty big stress on things. We had a nice finished basement we used to build our RC planes in in the winter time I would tell my father don't use that cheap control rod in that Japanese zero, he wouldn't listen the first thing it would happen to have 140 mile an hour rock bomb like a warbird getting shot down spiraling all the way to the ground kaboom. It got kind of embarrassing so then we got out of planes and into racing boats and started a racing team with my brothers and some other guys. My father was the only guy I know that could put a boat in a tree 40 feet out of the pond, lmao. But thinking back on it those were the most fun times I've ever had my with my father when was still with us. RC is fun stuff it seems like you never get away from it every so many years it kind of pops back in your life it actually started with one of my oldest brothers his first plane was a junior falcon. We later got in the senior Falcons which was a great plane we used to let all our relatives fly out on our farm I had a summer reunion party etc. if you can join a RC called yogurt a lot of oral tips if there's not one in the area start one find the nearest one go see those guys maybe post an ad on craigslist it's just a lot more fun to have a few guys we used to have bomb drop contest or best of show we build a old timers playing one time from scratch from a cute we made and then had a contest one of the classes was who could stay in the air the longest with no power flying into the thermals of the wind. And once a month we do have a meeting in the winter time guys would bring in their project to show everybody. RC sure has changed a lot I suppose the electrics are actually a lot simpler I still kind of like the sound of a screaming go plug engine though in a power dive so I'd probably like to go back to both. Nice job on this video nothings better than a video with somebody actually talking disgusing what they're doing instead of just playing music this is far better than any instruction manual will ever be. I downloaded it for when I get my plane if you're on the KZread plus or whatever which is what I watch for my TV you can download all kind of good stuff to watch it later if you're off-line. It's like $14 a month but it's worth it not to watch all the commercialsAnd they have some good free movies on there sometimes well there's a lot of free movies on there but some are actual that you would rent

    What would you recommend for a persons first edf? I already have some experience with low wing sport glo engine airplanes and trainers, etc. So I'm not a beginner, but have never flown electric or edf. I was leaning towards the habu..but might be overkill for me..or maybe the arrows marlin or the eflite viper..thanks for your input

  • @MerryBoozerRC

    @MerryBoozerRC

    3 жыл бұрын

    Joe Nazar honestly it depends if you don’t feel you need safe then the Habu RTF is definitely not the plane for you. If all you have is 4s batteries then the marlin is a fantastic choice. If your ready to take the plunge into 6s batteries (if your going to do jets you will need to ) the viper is great and you will still have the safe features but if you already have a radio your already past needing the Habu RTR as it’s for somebody brand new to the hobby

    @@MerryBoozerRC thanks for the reply...you have given me a lot to think about. I don't have any electric gear at all, so I'd be starting from scratch and building up my gear from zero...no radio yet either so that would be a factor also...dx8 on the way. I'm just a little nervous to jump straight into the viper 70mm with zero edf time.

  • @MerryBoozerRC

    @MerryBoozerRC

    3 жыл бұрын

    Joe Nazar the marlin is always a great choice but if your goal is to fly 6s jets why buy 4s batteries I also recommend getting the Freewing avanti as a first jet ( this is all with the assumption you do know how to fly.) I still recommend becoming a better pilot first before going jet side as these models fly around 100mph or faster so way less time for mistakes but if you want my honest recommendation if you already have a radio coming spend a little more and get smart batteries and the S1100 charge then get a viper and the Freewing avanti and start flying these are the two best beginning jets on 6s out there and if you can’t handle them fly some 6s warbirds that way you can still have the batteries for your jet when the time comes. The flightline Corsair 1600MM runs on the 6s batteries and so does the E-Flight P-51. The biggest thing you need to decide is what you want to spend there are some great 4s jets out there and price to play is much cheaper but if your goal is 6s you need to look at $100 a battery and your planes will be $300-$500. If you go 64mm 4s battery’s will be $30-$50 and the planes will be $99-$200

    Has anyone figured out how to program the DXS? I want to add lights to my Habu STS, and need to assign channel 7 to the unused switch (D) on the radio to turn them on and off. It appears they use channel 5 for throttle, 1 is empty (but still used somehow?), and I’ve heard 6 is for the “Oh Crap” button. Sure wish Horizon or Spektrum would post something on it!

  • @MerryBoozerRC

    @MerryBoozerRC

    3 жыл бұрын

    Currently, all DXS transmitters by default have channel 7 assigned to the D switch on the front. That’s usually channel 6, but it uses channel 6 for panic recovery on RTF trainer airplanes so it’s assigned to the “A” button hopefully that helps

    Warning: Very disappointed with the new Habu jet kit... The Habu STS 70mm EDF kit safe landing sensor were cast to be purchased separately and should’ve been included in the $400 kit. This kit was designed for new people to get familiar with get training and they would’ve wanted the sensor included at that high price! Also a scale 1 to 10 I give them a two day kit does not come with instructions they have five different sets of screws and it is unclear what screw goes to what area part for assembly. Instead of including a Mickey Mouse charger they should’ve giving you the landing sensor in its place. Is everybody should know trying to call and get a gotten a hold of Horizon Hobby on the phone is a nightmare with a 2 to 3 hour wait! So be aware of what’s going on... Horzion should’ve clearly labeled on the box that landing sensor has to be purchased separately. Good luck! Greg Coogle

    Horizon did realflight and the Dongle instead of the LAS in the box as it was a better training tool honestly you wouldn’t use it much after a few flights and some time with RF the manual is available online if you didn’t receive one but I’m sure horizon will gladly send you another one. It is on the website and the box that the Landing sensor isn’t included. On your manual was it taped to the back of the box your not the first that has told me about the manual and it ended up actually being in the box. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience with the model I now have three flights on it and haven’t had any issues with it. I also do not work for horizon hobby so I can’t do much for you on helping with customer service but I do know they are talking a few days to respond to CS claims. As all RC company’s have been extremely busy with more people being home for Covid.

    Very cool video, great aircraft, but it really sucks the way Horizon Hobby is doing business lately, it seems they get just enough of these jets in to send them out to guys who review their products on a regular basis then they want to take our money and make us wait months for the product to arrive, some of might not be their fault due to the slow shipping from china due to the SCAMDEMIC, I'm starting to look for a different supplier if this continues....
