E-Flite Carbon Z T-28 Trojan 2.0m modifications and upgrades

Ойындар

Hey guys, here is a short video of some modifications and upgrades I have done to my CZ Trojan listed below..
FMS 1700mm Corsair 360kv motor and 18x11 four blade prop.
Apologies in the video I said it was the Corsair esc but in fact it has a Hobbywing FlyFun 130amp ESC. I forgot I took out FMS 100 amp ESC for another plane.
FMS control board for simpler wing wiring. (a must have)
2S Lipo battery with its own UBEC for all electronics, primarily as a failsafe if the main battery and ESC suffer a failure. (a must have) Also makes working on the plane safer not having the motor live..
FMS 1700mm P-51 main landing legs. (a must have)
Robart soft tires for mains.
FMS 1700mm F7F Tigercat nose gear leg and wheel. (a must have)
Custom made nose gear doors, sequenced.
Flaps converted to slotted flaps instead of plain flaps.
I hope you find something from what I have done to my Trojan helpful.

My respects to you as a fellow modeler; the only thing we ask as consumers is if these companies go big and want to charge good chunks of money; at the least market a complete model with nothing obvious for us to fix!

Can't believe with how much they charged for this thing; they didn't even bothered to include at the least the main scale features on this plane; I mean; come on; they added doors for the mains but not the nose? It's ridiculous! That's the reason I've got the fms 1400mm trojan instead of this; at least they got a bunch of scale detail on it; even their prop n hub is to scale; so that means I didn't have to outsource other props to make it look scale!

Yeah its a pretty piss poor effort by E-Flite.. they did always have the outer doors on the mains through all the versions but they never fitted suspension struts. The solid struts are absolute junk. They could have easily upscaled the doors from the 1.4m for this plane. And yes the included prop is junk too. The 18" prop from the Flightline Corsair works so well! No speedbrake either like on other much smaller Trojans. They did eventually fit some lights to v3 at least. But at the end of the day most of the mods needed to improve the plane are fairly straightforward to do other than the nose gear doors. Im going to rework the nose gear doors design on mine, just waiting on replacement retracts to come back into stock as mine are all worn out..

Some nice upgrades there, very nice!! Can I ask how you fit the second pilot? I have the new yellow one but there doesn’t seem to be any access for adding an extra pilot. 👍🏻🇬🇧

You have to carefully peel away the clear canopy plastic from the foam section and then glue it back on. Its not too difficult at all really.

Its not too difficult to add the extra pilot, just carefully peel off the canopy from the foam section and then glue it back on. Just do it slowly so you don't split the plastic as it can be quite brittle. I had a spare pilot figure from a spare damaged canopy I bought off ebay. Easy!

Is the nose strut a easy drop in or did you had to change anything in the original retract?

yeah reasonably simple to do. you just need to get a 5mm pin which has a capped end as the stock landing leg has a C clip which holds it in place.

Which batterie you need to fly with these plane to get the longest flight time ?

I typically use 6S 10,000 mah batteries. I have used bigger but don't necessarily get much longer flight times. Probably due to ever increasing weight and diminishing returns factor.
