He stand amidst the red sand, staring, gaze trained on the looming metropolis in the distance. He watches the orange and yellow sky, seemingly searching for something, and finding nothing. His cracks a smile, letting out a dry laugh as his dry and heat-scorched fingers find a knob on his radio, twisting it; he closes his eyes and faces the sky as the electric music radiates out from the small box hung on his back, the noise seeming to bounce off every grain of sand and back into his ears. He open his eyes, faces away from the dark towers in the sky- the city-, that he once called home , and begins his journey, not knowing where he'll end up- but excited for the journey ahead.

The song "Enter Omega" by LukeArcher really makes me think of a future, modern, dystopian society. At the beginning of the song, when it's still not that loud, I imagine a modern dystopian city, with Half-Life 2 styled buildings and Soviet brutalism styled buildings. I imagine people walking along the street, with police with gas masks monitoring them, cameras everywhere, only a few cars on the road and groups of people watching a bald dictator with a deep voice and in a black uniform speak to them through big screens attached on walls. Then, when the song slowly builds up, I imagine the camera zoom up on the huge government building towering over the city. It shows the inside rooms of the building, with people being tortured, beaten up, brainwashed and turned into robots. Their screams echo throughout the entire building. And on the top floor, the dictator, guarded by soldiers with mask, watches over the city and the citizens

@@chaosdweller It was a dried turd. In all seriousness though, I don't remember either saying that. Regardless, the world comes alive in dissolution because it's a process and not a complex of discrete things. To die is to come alive. One thing I do remember Watts saying that captured this was a quote from the Tempest by William Shakespeare: Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits, and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit shall dissolve, And like this insubstantial pageant faded, leave not a rack behind. This is not simply a succession of melodious images, nor does the theme of dissolution simply borrow it's splendor from the things dissolved. The truth is that the the images, though beautiful in of themselves, come alive in the act of vanishing.

It's cool that you decided to concede, but it doesn't work because, A -- You'd completely ignored/intentionally misrepresented what the other person had said. *This always results in catastrophic failure even if you win.* B -- You didn't make any kind of counter, so you're capitulating yourself for no reason. C -- There was no point of contention to make a rebuttal about. If you wanted to argue, you actually have to pick a fight. No good just making small talk. I understand that my responses sound condescending, ones like these more than any, but you bring a lot of trouble onto yourself by not exercising common sense. Despite often being framed as verbal sparring, argument is not like stepping into a gladiatorial arena. You don't have to be nervous about it; if you have something you want to say, say it. The worst anyone can do is make fun of you.
