How to clean Dyson V15 Detect clear dust bin
Do not use detergents, polishes or air fresheners to clean the clear dust bin. Do not put the clear bin in a dishwasher. Do not immerse the whole cyclone unit in water or pour water into the cyclones. Clean the cyclone shroud with a dry cloth or dry brush to remove lint and dust.
Look at the canister of your Dyson V15. You can see dirt deposited on the filters in the dustbin of the Dyson V15. Now I’ll tell you the process, how to clean post-filter and bin. So, how do you separate the upper part of this Dyson dustbin and the actual V15? Just press the red button and holding your hands down. Now you can actually separate as a unit. You see a little button on the dustbin just below of the cyclone, you have to press down the button. I know initially when you see all your Dyson dirt, you just want to put it into a dishwasher or just want to let the water run over it to clean it. But not to do it, you need to have a dry cloth or a dry brush and then brush it off. Never use water. Clean the canister upper part with water. Wherever you clean a Dyson with water, let it dry for 24 hours. It is very important that all parts of the Dyson are BONE DRY before you use your V15 again, or else you might destroy your V15. After 24 hours put everything back together and put it into your Dyson vacuum cleaner.

2 things u need to know. 1, After you wash the bin remember to cover the bottom seals and the red squeegee with some flour or baby powder because they will seal very well to the door and when you try to open the bin, it will be very hard. 2, NEVER turn on the vacuum with the bin off because any dirt within the internal cyclone chambers will go straight to the filters and clog them up FAST. The way the cyclones work well is within a closed pressurized chamber. And with the bin open in some way, there's no internal pressure thus causing all and any dust within the airpath to get sucked up to the filter. 2 ways to avoid that is to keep your finger away from the trigger or twist the filter just a bit - preventing the vacuum from turning on. Then once you close the bin while it's on the vacuum u can twist the filter back on and use the machine

I am visually impaired. I am able to remove the bin for cleaning but I do not know where the filter is located. is it part of the bin or is it at the top weather bin connects to the interior of the vacuum cleaner.

Are you renting? How come all the debris ends on the plumbing? I would put the debris on the garbage bin, « comme il faut » ;)
emty the bin is a real disaster. the dust gun mechanism drives your attempt not to get in touch with clouds of dust ad absurdum. 👀
I vacuumed up poop. My Dyson v15 is ruined.

Just let it dry. Really dry. After that you can try to scrape out the poop, but you will need a new filter.

Appreciate the advice man. Yeah, maybe if it dries out enough, the smell may fade slowly aswell? Do you mean the purple filter? That's quite easy to clean thoroughly, right? Its most of the other components I'm worried about. The long pipe and the head piece have electrical parts. I'll take your advice and let it dry a long while
