I wish Dyson would do a check box kind of ordering system... like ok base is $X amount and have a dollar amount assigned to each attachment. Like base is $150 plus $40 for the long barrels, $40 for the smoothing brush, $30 for the blow dryer, etc (or whatever pricing lol) so you can just choose what you want to pay for and you don't end up with a bunch of stuff you won't ever use.

Love how honest this review is and how you’re one of the few influencers/ beauty bloggers who honestly depicts how expensive this product is for the general population. Everyone else completely glazes over the fact that this thing costs as much as a rent payment! Just like you said. So spot on. & it shouldn’t have that many flaws & be missing longer barrel lengths for that outrageous of a price tag.

The Airwrap is such a game changer for me. I’m a performer and first I had to wash my hair the day before the show. I got the Supersonic and could wash my hair the day of the show. I got the Airwrap and can wash my hair an hour before the show. It leaves my hair so light and soft, the smoothing brush works so well for me on damp hair, and the wands give me volume and curl that last 4-5 days. Love that thing! I haven’t used a regular hair dryer or the Revlon brush since I got it.

I do mine from 80% wet. It’s quicker and the curl lasts much longer. If I dry it to 20% and then curl it takes a lot longer and it drops quicker. I have fairly curly hair that has actually got curlier since I got my dyson a couple of years ago. The condition has improved soooo much too.

This was a great review, and as someone who has almost completely different hair from you and has owned it almost 5 months I wanted to also give my thoughts. My hair is frizzy, thick but I don’t have a lot of it. It doesn’t hold a curl with any styling tool. I have found with the Dyson, humidity is the number one factor for my curls falling. Luckily I live in a dry place so it mostly works for me. Also, don’t comb out your curls, it drives me crazy when I see people do that. As you showed, they naturally fall. Last thing, make sure you clean the filter! The bottom portion covered by the magnetic piece. I use mine every day and I have to clean it every month. If you don’t, it will stop turning on until it’s properly cleaned. For me, it was wildly expensive but my fiancé bought it so I could do my own hair for our wedding and gave me a year to practice. Also candy corn rocks!

Fyi- you CAN purchase the Dyson airwrap set with just the long barrels without paying extra. They sell the set with the standard barrels and the set with the long barrels; you do not have to pay extra if you buy the long barrel set to begin with. That's what I did and I love the airwrap! ❤

I got my Dyson Air Wrap as a graduation gift from my mother-in-law, and I've previously owned the Dyson Hair Dryer for ~3 years. I didn't do much to my hair medium length to then shoulder length hair except blow dry it. I honestly don't even know how to curl my hair with traditional tools, my mom (a cosmetologist) always did it for me. I bleached my natural hair to ombre so I'd be inspired to finally get to styling it. I finally got the air wrap and it made getting ready so quick and easy! I use the 2 brush attachments the most, since I have frizzy, bleached, and somewhat thick hair. I've played around with the curling attachments, but my hair is so long that I'd definitely have to buy the attachments, and I really don't want to. I know it would be nice with my hair type anyways and I'll eventually put in the work to curl my long hair with the current sizes. I want to eventually make the big chop again soon though. If you can get the Air Wrap as a gift, on discount, or save up Ulta points, you definitely should. The holidays bring out different colors.

The reason that bottom mesh piece detaches is because it’s the filter cage. It actually separates slightly and you can pull it off the dryer handle. If you can’t see through those little holes, then it needs to be cleaned. You put it in soapy water and use that circular tool it came with ( I had no idea what it was for either) and use it brush out all the debris. Let the filter cage dry, then put it back on your dryer. Sometimes if I’m being lazy, I’ll just use that little tool and get all the gunk out and wash it another time.

The cool shot DOES click in place. There is a cool setting underneath the High heat and Low heat setting. Look underneath the two little red buttons, there is a blue one. I click it on for at least 30 seconds. Definitely go by feel, until your hair feels cool. That makes a huge difference.

I was never going to buy this. But as per attention to design elements and use, your reviews just really go there. I bought one of the first Dyson vacuums. It broke early, was difficult to fix in my area. The $150 Bissell I bought as a replacement worked better than the Dyson ever did. So, there's that. The fact the color is already chipping off your tool......hmmm. Fantastic video, as ever. Thank you.

I bought mine 3 months ago and for me it has been worth it. I have fine hair and a lot of it. My main issue is VOLUME. I cannot let my hair air dry. 1. it takes so long, probably a full day and 2. it lays flat as a board. Air styling is the best for my hair type so I decided to shell out for this when I wasn't getting the looked I wanted from my curling iron. I have the one step dryer too and I just feel like I could only get 1 look with that and then I was going in with my curling iron too. The dyson definitely dries my hair faster than even my T3 blow dryer. I have also noticed my hair feels healthier which I didnt think would be significant for me but I didnt realize how dry my hair was using other tools. I also love how it styles my bangs, it is so much easier than a blow dryer/round brush situation. For me it's been worth it even though I do think it is overpriced!

Yeah, it takes so much to learn to use the tools, it's sooooo expensive, it doesn't seem to actually be too much better than other tools I've used, it doesn't take any time off the styling process.... And the paint is chipping? It's just like you said, for $500+ the color should not already be peeling or chipping from the product.... That to me would be kind of frustrating. I don't think I would ever be able to justify spending thatuvh money on this product. My sister uses the old wand thing that used to be really popular and her hair always looks flawless. And when she does my hair, I feel so pretty. There's no way I would ever buy the Dyson. Thank you so much for testing it and giving us all the necessary information we need in order to decide for ourselves if we want to purchase this. You are amazing Taylor, I love your videos!!! ❤️❤️🥰🥰

I only use the smoothing brushes and blow dry attachment. Using those attachments is the closest that I’ve ever gotten to making my hair look like it does from the salon. It comes out smooth and voluminous. It takes 20-30 minutes to go from wet to styled for my long, wavy, and semi-thick hair. I’ve never been able to master using a hair dryer and round brush. I don’t like the round brush attachment for the Airwrap though. It’s worth it to me, but I don’t like how my hair looks after using a flat iron (too flat and then it frizzes). I’ve also bought so many hair tools prior to this one including the Dyson hair dryer, which I find heavy. I also have significantly less damage in my hair now compared to when I flat ironed it. I’ve had the Airwrap since March 2021.

I love my air warp. I waited until this summer to get it to make sure I heard enough good things about it (I’ve been waiting since it launched) and got it as my wedding anniversary gift this year! It has replaced all my hair equipment, curler, straightener and obviously blow dryer. I’m very low maintenance with hair and also avoided doing it because the smell of ironed hair made me sick. I have a salon perfect blowout and styler with every use, at a maximum of 30 minutes (long hair). It’s a beautiful technology that justifies the price for me. I mean it’s dyson after all! It better last me the rest of my life!! Or until the next best thing

Nice. I would use long duckbill clips to hold each coil until ready to comb it out. I have a Conair that works well, and a Babyliss flatiron. I also have the Revlon airbrush (which I never use), so between those three, I probably spent the $600. If I had to start over, I might consider the Dyson but not until these other tools conk out. Thanks for this review.

I live in India where the summer is brutal followed by an extremely humid monsoon, I have extremely thick voluminous hair, which gets super frizzy and unmanageable. I've gotten Keratin treatments done since the past 4-5 years every 8-9 months or so, which has probably costed me about 2-2500$ total. I'm super tired of damaged hair and have kind of sworn off straightening treatments! So buying the Dyson at 450$ (discounts), has been a super cost effective and low damage option for me!

This is EXACTLY what I needed to know. I have less hair than you, but it's roughly the same length. I've always loved how my hair looks after I go to the salon but I really struggle to maneuver a blow dryer, to the extent I don't own one. I hate that though because I feel like I'm limited in when I can wash my hair since I need time to let it air dry. I actually washed it last night and it's 5pm now and it's still pretty damp. Not great in the winter. I could totally manage to hold this thing still if it's going to do the bulk of the work and since I don't own things like a blow dryer or curling iron I feel like I could justify this. So many people talk about what makes a purchase like this "worth it" when they already own a lot of tools. If you don't have any a top quality curling iron costs at minimum $100 so this isn't that bad price wise when you're getting two sizes, plus the dryer, and the brush, etc.

  • @AllyKit

    @AllyKit

    2 жыл бұрын

That was exactly me too. I didn’t own a hair dryer and always let my hair air-dry before, then style the next morning. Now I can actually dry and style my hair without having to use a curling iron or flat iron, except maybe for touch ups here and there. I feel like this tool was made for people with thin or damaged hair, or for those who aren’t skilled with a round brush/dryer. You will love it!
