When I saw this video pop up on my phone I had to rush to see it. I am so happy for you. You been saving money and talking about this for a while. Your 100% correct to say that Aviation is a love story. I dont know you but can say I am proud of your in living your dream of GA. Hope Dynon hires you it seems you really love the company along with Moyer aviation. My brother is getting 1 10inch and a 7inch for his RV6. I dont know how you did it but you changed his mind form Aspen.

Awesome!! My buddy is going to love his Dynon. You push him away from Garmin. Dynon is the next best thing since sliced bread for GA. No reason to double or more your upgrades prices with other companies. My whole family loves your channel. Its a channel you can relate to and enjoy. Thank you and we cant wait to see you in flight. This panel is the best panel layout I ever seen. Very clean and net. You did it right the 1st time. Dynon is for sure with GA is seems. Everyone else is about numbers. Keep up your love for aviation. Your guys at Moyer did a great job also. Enjoy it and be safe. Cant wait to see future videos.

Very cool panels! I definitely think you made the right decision to go with 2x 10" Dynon. Would be interesting if you can put together a couple videos on how you come across your Mooney and the journey in purchasing your first plane & what you went though during the pre-buy, issues, surprises, decision,...etc, I mentioned that I'm also looking to get a Mooney. I love your story and I think I (and many others) can learn/benefit from your journey in picking the pre-buy technician, selecting the plane/model, what to watch out for...etc. Keep up the great work!

Your panel came out just perfect. Perfect layout and everything is at your fingertips. GA has come such a long way compared to commercial. I looked at Dynon's prices and they are truly making glass affordable for ga pilots and awesome awareness to boot. Panel looks great! I watch the video that you reopened the door while taxied . I have a 75 M20C ...I use Icy breeze. I bought it at sun n fun 2 years ago. It fits perfect in the baggage area right behind the rear seats. I use frozen water bottles Instead of ice. I sat in my Mooney on the ramp on an 85 degree day with high humidity with it on while waiting for my buddy to preflight his amphibious maule .kept me cool..works great!! I put it in through the baggage hatch door and leave it in all summer ( rechargeable battery) I’m in Western PA if your ever out this way for a fly in let me know. I see your Corvette in the hanger- I have a C5 myself.

Chris, it would be very helpful to other aircraft owners if you would do a video describing the STC process for a complete panel re-make from 6 pack to full glass, in a certified airplane.

I will do. Great question. The Mooney panel is non structural. So all you need for a new panel is a AMP log book entry. If your panel is part of the structure then you need to get DER involved. Same goes for a Cessna which is non structural as well. Another example is that Moyer is doing a Cherokee 6 and that does need a DER involvement because its part of the airplanes structure.

Chris, that is a very clean panel and the utility of those units will be amazing. You have a little learning to, but I am guessing you are enjoying every minute of it. Have fun, fly safe, and I can't wait to see them in action. Maybe for the first flight (after you are very comfortable with them) you might want to think about dedicating one camera to at least one of your Dynon units?

M Thank you. It’s not Avidynes transponder but they do offer it. I have the L3 remote transponder. Works very well and gives you more info.

This all looks cool, but... Doesn't this Mooney lose the status of certificated aircraft since Dynon panel is for experimentals only?

Dynon is now certified the SkyView HDX for over 600 aircraft's makes and models. They started with the certifications about 4 years ago now. I had a friend of mine who flies with glass go over some stuff with me. But other then that I learned on my own. Its very easy to fly with glass. Its just different. You get use to it pretty fast.

Talking to Dynon, the STC does not take care of the instrument panel construction, unless you "overlay" the new panel over the old. What method did you use, and if a new panel was made and the old was replaced, how did that process go with either a field approval or 337?

@@PilotFun101 Ok thanks, thats the best answer I've heard yet. I'm actually looking at doing a Cherokee 6 myself. From what Dynon has indicated for the aircraft that the instrument panel is structural, its that you can overlay on top of the old panel and then make the cutouts. I dont know who Moyer is, but it would be good to somehow get a contact to pic his brain.

Nice panel! What an upgrade. Does your Avidyne communicate with the HDX like your SL-30 does? Can you load and see the approach on the HDX?

Thank you! It does not as of yet but the Avidyne has its own touch screen. I kinda like only having one on the Dynon because I really don’t want the screen to cluttered. I do like having the back up SL-30 integrated. You can load and see the approach on the HDX. Ill be working on a video soon to show that as well.

How long has it taken for you to get comfortable with the Dynon system?

About 4 flights. Now its very easy to navigate through.

Great panel upgrade! Congrats! I’m thinking of going with something similar in my PA28 Warrior. However no STC for autopilot is holding me back. Did you go with any autopilot at all so far (Trutrak/Aerocruz 100, etc.)? I’m comparing installing this v/s dual g5s with GFC 500. I really like the Skyview hdx more. Wish it was compatible with more autopilot systems. I’ve heard that the trutack is only legal up to 700 agl on approaches and also that it does not automatically sync the baro with the Skyview.

Thank you. All the reason I am holding off until the FAA approves Dynons AP. I currently have no AP. Dynon is a great system that is great prices and the upkeep is very inexpensive when it comes to updates and charts.

Is the autopilot not certified for the m20c at the moment?
