Consider Subscribing and Join the Fun as I Fly Around the East Coast in my NOW MooneyM20R Ovation! As a child I always had a interest in planes. I always wanted to stop over to my local small airport and just look at the planes tied down. Sometimes for hours! I just found myself hanging out! I remember telling myself I could never do this. So as I grow up I lost my dream of aviation. One day I found myself driving passed a Airport in NY. (KMGJ) I was just walking around and the memories came back when I was a child. I then found hangers and pilots! Well, that was it for me! A pilot offered to take me flying. I fell in love again with aviation! So then my aviation love story began. I said "I must fulfill at least one of my childhood dreams and become a pilot". So I did just that! I am hoping with my KZread Channel I can inspire others to continue on with their own dreams and make their own Aviation Love Story. This channel and it's content does not represent the views of the FAA.

    Ingredients may be the same but one soup tastes way better. The execution is as important as the ingredients are. Not saying any one brand is better but some people may prefer one brand over the other due to the execution and how its packages. Me personally, I’m learning to fly in Garmin products and since that’s what I know I will most likely go for because I know it well. Despite the added cost.

    I had the pleasure of stopping at KPOU on my journey from KBGR to KSHD in my Cherokee. Paula’s Cafe was open, I ate lunch there after ordering fuel. I had a chicken salad wrap, my meal was excellent,the service was very friendly and professional, I was very pleased. As I ate my lunch, I checked weather on WIFI for the next leg of my trip. I give Paula’s Cafe 5 stars and I give KPOU 5 stars as well, the controllers were excellent.

    tl;dr , budget $1500/month for the year, wet. And over that time you’ll build up a surplus hopefully, for your MOH. And / or you’ll have a couple thousand saved for maintenance intervals, paint touch ups, etc.

    Slowing down without speed brakes means power to idle. Advise you passengers that you are going to pull up and that it is normal. Once past the FAF get to the lowest part of the glideslope and pull up at around 10 degrees and watch the airspeed fall. Once below Vle drop the gear. Then get back on the glideslope. In my E it would take around 150 feet to get the gear down. When the controllers want you to keep the speed up they will appreciate that you can comply. Without doing this you will never get below Vle.

    Same plane. The only difference really in the ovation 3 is the 310hp at 2700 RPMs and you can take off with the AC on if you have that option. it comes standard with the Gamin G1000 panel and Garmin GFC-700 digital auto pilot. The Ovation 2 comes with the Garmin 530 and 430. That’s the only difference between the Ovation and the ovation 2. The ovation came with Bendix/King Radio/ GPS

    Hi. How does the garmin glass cockpit compare to the dynon setu p? I know that it's generally better but dynon is also cheaper. Is the price difference worth it or Dannon is a good budget option? Thank you

  • @PilotFun101
    @PilotFun1014 ай бұрын

    Dynon I believe is under priced. Garmin is great but Dynon is knocking on their door. If Dynon had an AP for the Mooney I would have put Dynon HDX in the Ovation.

  • @johninductivo3313
    @johninductivo33134 ай бұрын

    I see. I watched your Dynon video and it's an older video so I'm wondering if you went with Garmin with this one because you like it better. My next question if you don't mind, can the 2nd screen for a dynon be your GPS/moving map MFD screen. I'm thinking about doing dual skyview then just get a smaller screen GPS like the GTN 650 or the Avidyne IFD440 or something. What's your thoughts on that? Thank you again

  • @johninductivo3313
    @johninductivo33134 ай бұрын

    Hi. I've only flown G1000 and the 2nd screen serves as the MFD. I'm planning on getting a cessna and this is a cheaper route than buying a cessna with g1000. Is the 2nd dynon more for redundancy because the avidyne serves as gps/mfd correct? Thank you.

  • @johninductivo3313
    @johninductivo33134 ай бұрын

    Additionally, if I get a smaller screen gps like the gtn 650, I can use the 2nd screen as my mfd for traffic and navigation as well right? Like how it is in a g1000?

    201 driver here…I know in your Ranger you had the Dynon and Avidyne running which is the direction I am leaning since Dynon is now actually working on the certifying the AP for the mid body Mooney. Would you go with a single IDF550 or two IDF 440’s with a single HDX 10” screen? Thx

    If you want to raise your YTchannel to the next level, find out how to add your plane's real time data to show on screen as we watch. I keep trying to see your temperature gauges, and if they were on screen 100% of the time, I'm sure you'd attract many more viewers because other channels aren't doing it either. Start the trend, reap the rewards. If you replace all those cameras with a single Insta360 setup at the location of the one that gives the view at 55:50, with instruments displayed along the top of frame, I'm certain your channel will thrive and you'll ease your own media nightmare of storage space and the Insta360 doesn't overheat like GoPro.

    Dynon needs to get the main display certified for navigation as well. It makes no sense that a little crappy nav unit costs way more than the main display that already has the functionality. It's only legacy thinking to have multiple instruments. It's trivial functionality that the main display can easily do. It gives them an advantage over garmin and saves you a lot in the installation. Also the display should be double size. They are missing obvious opportunities to defeat garmin and the others.

    Tim, Doing the math real quick…. Chris is… 1) cruising over the ground at 159mph… statute miles vs. nautical miles, plus a bit of a head wind… measured using his GPS. 2) Burning 11.1 gph 3) Netting just over 14mpg 4) Not bad mileage compared to an ordinary Ford F-150 that usually cruises at 65mph. 5) Consider how well things will get on the return flight…. When he has a tailwind instead of the headwind… 6) If the pilot really wants to stretch his mpg numbers… he can slow things down to 90knots (approach speed). Nice work Chris! Thanks for sharing… Go O!

    Curious about your call “Anybody short base to final for 22?” as I saw that if your other video too. Reminds me of the “Any traffic in the area please advise” call which is like using the word “irregardless”. Curious if this was taught in training or something you developed? Asking as I’m a new pilot and wondering if it could help increase safety. My first thought wonders what if I make that first call and step on someone trying to announce their position on short base or final? I watched the Sky Acres video so thanks for posting that. I’m based out of KHFD with an M20J and looking to get out there for some cheap fuel and what I hear is good food. Cheers and safe flying!

  • @PilotFun101

    I typically hear who is in the pattern and who is going to enter the pattern. I say “short base to final” just as another call out to make sure I didn’t miss anything and to make sure nobody is close to landing before I take the runway. I love J models as well. Great planes. If you’re in the area hit me up.
