As you said all the T-28’s have weak front gear. The FMS 1400 has the best out of the box with a spring loaded strut. My Eflite 1.2 was replaced with the front oleo gear and retract from a Freewing T-33 80mm for $35 drops right in no more bent gear. My Carbon-Z front gear was replaced with the Freewing 80mm A-10 oleo strut and mains replaced with the FMS 1500 P-47 struts.

If you've already got one, but if you're picking BETWEEN this and the 1.2m EFlite offering, you'll be way too close for comfort (on price), and the EFlite would be considerably better plane. bprc.me/T28 - You know you want one ;)

One thing about going with a Dynam Plane to get into the hobby with, You will be taking a Crash Course in Model R/c Building and interpreting the Chenglish Language in their manuals

I missed the bottom middle screw only realized after watching this video! No wonder my plane looks really messy at the bottom of the plane...thank u sir! Btw im running 4s 2200mah and set the timer for 5mnts....always about 30% left after 5mnts...never flew like u until no power surprisingly nearly 10mnts!

Just need some oleos on there to get rid of the wiggly gear... i loved mine but especially after I changed it to a 3 blade Master Airscrew prop!!! Better punch and flight times! Nice to see that Dynam has their own radio with gains you can change from the radio!! They are coming a long way!!

As always great video, Brian. How would you compare this to your eflight T-28 Trojan 1.2m w/70A ESC on 4S and 850kV motor?

Nice T28 but it looks like it could do with some more carbon in the wings and maybe the fuse. I would do the PNP and add a AR637 rx. Also I have been hitting your links to do some window shopping and many don't work anymore.

You sure can! If the receiver had enough channels, you can run it no problem!

E flite P51D Mustang 1.2m...... it’s great! If you haven’t flown for a couple years, I would start back with something else like a small trainer or a bush plane of some sort. I recommend the E flite Timber X set up with SAFE if you are looking to get back into it. Get the BNF version, a 4s battery and a 6+ channel transmitter.

Well, that's a loaded question... So many to choose from. Here's what I'd say, given you're getting back into the hobby. the Valiant...my first plane n haven't crashed it yet...I put 3 1/2 bush wheels on it tho...n haven't braved the Floats yet...

I bet if you reinforced the wing spare it would fly like a different plane. That said, I'm glad you fly'm like they come out of the box.

Brian great job as normal If you remember me I am relatively new to the hobby and I had my first aw sh*t with a Pitts 850mm after putting the plane back together.I have two bad servos thought I only had one the rudder replaced it with a metal gear servo very pricey. The other servo is the Aileron should I replace both servos and what are some good servos . Would the weight of two different servos cause a problem

Shouldn't cause any issue...such a small amount of weight difference. Remember that when you're new, plan on learning a lot of stuff "the hard way" and make sure you learn something from every crash!

I can't say for certain. Sometimes the ESC's will handle the extra power.

I’ve been wanting to ask this question for a while before I tested it myself, but how do you fit an ic3 into a xt60? Did you modify the xt60 head to make it compatible with the ic3, or was it like that stock?

I use a Radiomaster tx16s with all my vehicles including HH. But one point to keep in mind is you need a Spektrum transmitter to use forward programming on new Spektrum receivers.

Sooooo I’m kinda new to the rc plane thing and usually I fly drones that come with the transmitter. Here is my question. I want to buy a transmitter so I can purchase “bind and fly” vehicles and wondering how I would know what transmitter works with what receiver that comes with the plane, drone or whatever. Radiomaster tx16s is what I use for my drones, heli's and planes and if you ever need help or advice with it watch Joshua Bardwell , he's a open tx genius.

If you get a RadioMaster, you will be able to do a wider range of things, but you'll have one heck of a time setting up some of the new Spektrum gear... Also Spektrum has some of the easiest setup of any I've worked with. If you can figure out a way to get an NX8, you'll be set for many years of aircraft, but you'll also be able to follow along on our builds and radio setup. If you're "kinda new" you don't want to have to deal with the PIA of RadioMaster, from my personal experience with openTx. I was going to get the 2m Carbon Z T-28 and then Horizon discontinued it. I heard they might bring it back, V2, Smart etc...Any inside info?

I hope they bring it back with some updates (Not just Smart stuff) as the old one had a few issues that a lot of people had. Weak control rods and links, flaps that hang up and weak landing gear. You fix them things and it’s a great plane. It is bigger then you think.

YES, you heard correctly...it is NOT going away, but YES they are upgrading the Rx...so it'll be "re-released" with a new Rx soon. I want it badly!!!!

@@BrianPhillipsRC right now the only thing you can do for the look of a 3 blade prop is install a Master Airscrew 14x9x3 or 16x8x3 prop on it. The 14 will give the same performance as the stock 2 blade but still looks too small on it. With the 16 you would have to upgrade the ESC to 100 amp as you will cook the stock 70 amp ESC (Stock blade has the amps close to 70 there is no headroom) and you might have to upgrade the stock motor as well as it’s only rated for 1500 watts and you will pull over that with the 16. I’m using the 16 on mine with 100 amp smart ESC and I’m flying it like I stole it 😎 I’ve been looking for a 15x8x3 to try out but I have not found one yet.

WRONG! The FMS T-28 Trojan V4 1.4m has extremely weak nose gear. The servo is weak AND the strut is weak. You cannot land that plane smooth enough and taxi it off the runway without either damaging the servo or bending the weak strut. Other than that, it is a super looking and flying airplane. Sadly, it doesn't get the flight time it should from me simply because I've grown weary of rebuilding the nose gear. Nonetheless, I think you make some very valid points about this Dynam plane vs. the other brand T-28's. BTW - When are you going to build the Dynam Albatros? As always, thanks much for sharing. The FMS 1400 nose gear is not great but it’s a lot better then the Eflite ones. I would still say it’s the best of the stock gear out of all of them.

I haven't considered the Dynam Albatros, but looks like a cool plane! As for the nose gear on the 1.4m FMS...I heard one in that size class was better...possibly I was thinking of another one?

You did not get any flex with the 3 cell...right?

This one has more wing flappiness than any of my previous T-28's, but it's nothing that can't be improved if one had an issue with it.

Would be a Dynam that would lose power during flight lol.. And bummer... we didn't see how dead the battery was :(

Dynam planes tend to be on the more difficult side. If you want to get this plane it might be a good plane if you’ve already flown 2 other planes before. Once again, just my opinion on dynams but at the end of the day it’s up to you whether you want to make the risk.

I think this plane is somewhat easy to fly, but if you want EASY, then you want the whole process to be easy... does this make sense?

On both of the SRTF and BNP addresses I get a 404 error.

I tend to agree, but I like Dynam still. Some of what they do is very good...and other stuff is less good - LOL ;) BUT they do hit a different price point. If it's a choice between a less good plane, and no plane at all...I'll get the less good one...but whole asses is definitely my preference to Philip.
