Your hair was already dyed; the particular box/line that you bought, shows the colour results for undyed hair or hair that hasn't been dyed for at least six months (says right on the box). Affects the end result, is all.

I used this dye too and had the same natural colour as you. Mine turned out darker than I thought it would also, however I quite like it now. In the sun it has nice pinky highlights. It does suit you :)

The reason why the hair dye boxes makes your hair darker its because the peroxide it has it’s only 20volume you would need either 30v peroxide or 40v to make it come out that same exact color as the hair dye.. Trust me! I know from experiences!

@Melissa M. It means we should use 40 volume for darker shade but wouldn't that harmful for hair?

rizwana -If you use it very often than yes it will definitely damage your hair. But it does NOT damage your hair as much as bleach does. I would rather use 40v peroxide than to bleach my hair.

Thanks. I was considering buying this shade, I won't now seeing as it doesn't turn out how it says it will. I'm liking a level 6 copper right now, 6.42, am looking into maybe going a titch browner as the copper looks translucent orange in some lighting.

Hi Sunday Shows, I also had this experience with that product! I am a honey blonde n bought 7.3 Honey Dip and followed instructions.... came out a dark auburn red colour, too!!! I freaked every time I looked in the mirror n could hardly recognise myself!! I washed it everyday for 6weeks n used the left over conditioner! Now at last it is the lovely honey colour on the packet:))!!...but alas.... it has regrowth and needs roots doing again!!!! Grumpy old woman... not happy and undecided what to do now! I am disappointed for you that you had the same experience..... look forward to seeing what it looked like in 6weeks, hehe😂😂😂

I think it's a dark color rose gold it's number is lower than 545 or something and all my dyes I used to color my light brown hair Golden brown and dark blonde have started at number 600+. Ex: level 4-5 or Garnier any color in 500's is considered darker colors dark to medium browns ect and for natural color that's even brown to dark brown which is a sign it's gonna be a dark color outcome in level 500's. I'm not sure why they put up a photo of a model with hair color 2-3 levels above of what this actual hair dyes outcome will be ( unless your hair is ultra blond which would still darken it ckiser to a color in photo. Nutrusse i noticed tube to not have to much of accuracy when it comes to showing the color outcome and pictures on boxes appear somewhat light. Also I could get away with one Box ii need feria or some other brands but I always have to buy 2 boxes of nutrisse creme ... The bottles themselves are slightly smaller as well as total volume where I guess it can make a difference as well as texture ii feel the color. Like I get away with one box of feria because the color glides through my hair easier and brings more dimensions vs nutrisse. However I like that nutrusse carries alot more colors especially natural looking ones ( except for their ultra color line which i find tacky and wash out REALLY fast. But in general I find nutrusse always turns out a shade darker than I expect it

I understand when someone wants really a specific colour like coppery or ginger hair, and then you get cool marron hair, you might be disappointed. Then it is good to get the additional reaction from people who are unbiased. And as many other said it, you look better with the unexpected result than before. As much as I can see, the coppery hair ages you and gives your skin uneveness and a bit redness. With the now cool marron hair your skin seams flawless and this redtone complements more your very green beautiful eyes. They pop. With the light darker tone your face seams to be less squarish and more defined structured. Indeed you remind me a bit of Rachel Brosnahan (Mrs. Maisel), eye colour excluded. Me happened the same with golden blond hair. It looked as i got some kind of sunburn, as soon as I happened to wear a dark blue hat. The skin looked healthy. I assume you are a cool coloured person. Cool.

You cant apply a colour that is lighter than your hair and have it take, you would need to use a pre-lightener or bleach (bleach london is really good) and preferably not colour removers like colour b4 as when you dye your hair after the hair is very porous and comes out so dark

Your original hair was far too dark for the color you chose. Dark hair has to *de*color to get a lighter shade to work right. That means bleaching, then coloring. And you shouldn’t go more than two shades lighter in a session, to keep your hair from weakening. You can get by with using a lighter shade if your hair is slightly darker than the desired color, but there was too dramatic a difference between your medium-dark Auburn hair and a much lighter reddish blonde. So don’t blame the color. Blame your not understanding the realities of hair coloring.
