My hair was the exact same color as yours and I dyed it back to red. People say that you can't do that but these are probably people with about zero experience dying. Red dye, semi permanent in particular, has always stuck to my hair like glue. Also you look great with red hair. It really brightens your complexion up and brings out your eyes.

This is my way of doing hair dye research, too. I'm looking to go back to red from blue and this is the first video to show up. 👍👏🙏

I am too. I was using special effects Sonic Green. Now it has faded to blue and yellow. Did you dye your hair? How'd it turn out? Red cancels green, but blue might make it muddy.

I'm about to do the same thing! I've been using a fader shampoo to get the blue out of my hair but it's just kinda turned a weird teal colour and I was worried that dying over it in red wouldn't turn out, glad I found ur vid! Also the music had me hyped

@@mackenziekarl1682 I ended up doing a bleach bath for 5 minutes. It still had a greenish tint to it. It sunset orange completely canceled out the green!! I will say that the dye fades pretty quick. It still looks pretty but it lost its vibrancy after one wash

Love this color on you!! But just for future ref the red covered the blue/green because red is opposite blue/green on the color wheel! And you had a pretty even application of the red so that helped AND the color was really faded! But again I love how this turned out on you!

I had my hair red for about 3 years and wanted to change it up, so I bleached it like 3 times over 3 months, toned it and now I’m like super blonde, I’m kinda loving it, but I bought semi permanent “Manic Panic” in Atomic Turquoise cause I just think that colour is awesome lol, but I’ll definitely be going back to red after this which is why I came to this video. I normally use “ Vidal Sassoon” Runway Red permanent box dye colour when I need to redo my red cause it takes ALOT of upkeep to keep your hair that red, I suggest using this brand Ice Cream in the colour red. It’s just a hair mask kind of thing that keeps your hair red , I just put it in my hair after I shampoo& conditioner every other wash for 10-15 mins but I got LONG hair so one bottle doesn’t go far and it’s pricey but it keeps my hair as red as I liked, like yours is now. Thankyou so much for putting this vid out! I was afraid of what colour I might end up with after I let the blue fade then going straight to fire hydrant red lol I hope it works the same for me! You absolutely rock that red! Love it! Might switch to the dye you used when I go back to red 🤔

HEEEEEEY! QUESTION!!! COULD U PLEASE TELL ME WHAT BRAND U USED FOR THE BLUE DYE!? I currently have blue hair, and i want to go RED now, its a very muted faded blue, on purpose, i didnt want a bright dark blue. So its more medium faded, like blue jean blue. I used BOX DYE! I dont remember the exact brand atm...but box dye, 9$ at Walmart... (I actually mixed 2 diff colors and brands of dye...one was a pastel pale blue the other was a blue jean faded blue...cause i wanted it like matte not shiny and bright as i said b4 lol.) ANYWHO, i want a deeper red than yours, urs is very little mermaid, i want more...like witchy deep dark red...not so dark it looks black in some lighting...just darker...like a cherry kinda, when urs is more strawberry bright red. (ITS AMAZING AND CUTE! But i want darker lol) ANYWHO! I just wanna see if u used box dye also or if u used the healthier dye thats like vegetables thats super popular atm. BECAUSE If u did use box dye i would feel very confident that i could go red by next week after fading the blue a bit more... If u used the healthy dye though...idk wtf to do lol...besides go BLACK... (And i do LOVE my hair black...im just not sure i want black again yet...lol) ALSO! THIS TIME! I want one of these, and in this order of faves... 1. Deep Red, somewhat like a cherry, or dark blood...like Witchy. 2. SUPER DARK, almost black Ash Brown 3. hi! Did it work? I have the same hair color and i read that dying it red over thoses tones will only make your hair go brown, and not a nice brown color. But then I so this video...did it work for u?

From my experience yes! Red tint doesn't really fade, and it makes the blue turn out brownish

Uhh, I'm intending to do that, I believe as long as it's faded enough it should work.... Or worst case it tints a lil purple

The reason it would is because you followed the color wheel (not sure if you meant to or not). Red cancels out green and nuetrilizes it which is why you were able to go so vibrate and true to color. Also you used a 20 vol developer which lifts as well as diposits instead of 10 vol which just deposits. This method will not work with just any colors. For instance if youre hair was more blue than green the red would have made it more purple and muddy looking.

shannon wolford most likely. Lilac is a lot closer to red and green is, so it’ll probably work very well depending on the red dye you have.

I think so. I had went to go see my hairdresser before and she had told me as long as the dye is darker than the faded color, it should work. Worst case scenario you'd have to dye over twice just to be sure you set the color

I wish my blue hair would fade!!! I don't know how a semi-permanent stayed put for 4 months! Rethinking my plain to dye over the blue with red...

Isabelle Sprague I disagree. You would think blue would be flattering on fair skin with blue eyes but from my experience (I have the same coloring) it's been really hard to find a blue shade that works as well for me as red has. I've had about every unnatural color there is and I always dye mine back the color of hers. If you notice the red instantly brightens her complexion. Not to mention how faded she is starting out.

Seeing this made me realize how annoying i was when i was like 12 and listened to hatsune miku.

Developer is basically bleach, or well a bleach activator, when you mix it with the hair dye you bought it works together to lift (aka bleach) your hair and deposit the color. I'm pretty sure all permanent hair dyes use bleach in some way, even dark colors, it's because the process of lifting helps the hair become more porous and and suck in the new color better. So basically the dye you used just combines the bleaching and dying into one step vs using a semi-permanant/temporary hair dye, which would be the only way for it to truly be "without bleach" I'm sure it's still better for your hair than applying full on bleach and then dying it but that's why the original commenter said what she did! 🙃 Also your hair looks fabulous at the end!
