To be fair, I originally thought it was "As I Iay Dying" when I heard it on South Park and had to investigate. I feel like I let myself down as a metal fan for not having heard of this band.

These guys became so much more focused as a band when they dropped down to being a trio. There was just too many vocalists and ideas floating around as a quintet. Less members and a more refined sound seriously improved Dying Fetus.

I remember when i was in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. I was looking for the place which Dying Fetus would play. I asked two guys if they were also going to the show. They responded with: euhm.. we are Dying Fetus.. but where is the coffeeshop?

@@turdferguson810 Yeah, Korn is literally one of the biggest names of Nu Metal. Contacting Korn for some Nu Metal is like contacting a member of the Big 4 to get a thrash metal song on a show. Dying Fetus, although a very popular active (and "proactive") death metal band, will probably be found on the "second line", when searching up death metal, after Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Death, Suffocation, Obituary, Deicide etc.

I believe it's because it's a type of talent that resides in an art form that many find "unlistenable". Smaller populous, less deserved recognition unfortunately. It's a damn shame. Such a diverse genre of music really. Elitism in the fan base kind of ruins outside perspectives as well.

@@jakelamont6205 Elitism also keeps the music pure. If too many people liked death metal, it wouldn't be death metal. It's one of the only genre's of music that takes buckets of talent to do right, and the people doing it know they will never get rich doing it, which means the music comes from the heart.

dying fetus is currently one of the best band you can have around, this song proves it, a perfect combination of technique and brutality. In my opinion this band has made so much progression since it's early days and now they are playing at their best

Billy Lee yep except deathcore is really just a breakdown but the whole song lol. It’s a bit too slow for me. I tried to get into it and kinda liked it for a while but death metal is better there is more going on.

the ending is fun, the switch between the two different chord shapes is a good idea and keeps the ear listening.

What a beast of a band, I thought only Nile could release songs like that but these guys are an explosion of energy, brutality and ruthless strength. Gallager with that voice and his riffs, I have not seen a bassist who accompanies the solos like Sean does, the drums with that complex rhythm. Some damn Death Metal monsters. I so regret not having listened to them sooner.

I heard them play at Autumn Fest. Best show ever

This album is now on my top 10 albums of all time. It’s perfection. The only negative thing : it’s too damn short !!!

Southpark brought me here I listened to alot of metal but never any dying fetus until south park now I jam it alot

This is the best thing Dying Fetus has ever written. I wrote them off in the past, but this is just too tight. The songwriting and riffing is too clean, I love it.

It won't mainstream them... I don't think Death Metal will ever go mainstream. This just adds to the army of fans and people discovering that "hey this shit rocks! Who is this!?!" In no time they'll be looking into Job for a Cowboy and other bands as well.
