It’s really amazing how this channel can make such horrid writing sound exciting and entertaining. Truly a great job and it really makes me wish GW would retcon the end times or redo them in a way that’s actually fun to read instead of every chapter ending with some version of “and so the good guys lost because uh… they just did because end times”

Ok I’m a slimy skaven player, but when the Dawi king started exclaiming grudges during battle I got some chills! So epic.

Thing was it was sealed. Throgrim was in a chamber no one could enter so Snitch entered via "REASONS" and killed the king just when his armour no longer worked. Convenient.

The re-write of the battle between Grimgor and Archaon from Storm of Chaos (where Order did win the world wide campaign) and End Times is another example of this similar kind of BS. Chaos is always able to pull out a hereto never mentioned gimmick to win the day. So Snikch can now teleport into a place he's never been or even seen a layout of or he is so stealthy he sets off none of the rune alarms and is able to slip through a stone door Thorgrim himself closed. As much as there were some great moments they are always pulled down by this sort of crap.

I mean the fight it was a part of was pretty shit. Thorgrim just kills Queek without a fight in Queek's own book for no reason, then Bugman himself comes along and gives Thorgrim magical beer to un-chaos his boo-boos. Doesn't even matter though because Thorgrim just dies almost immediately afterwards anyways because he was stupid for no reason, I guess. Left a very important door open just because and died to a skaven sneak attacks in a suit of armor that was supposed to be able to ward off sneak attacks.

My guy didn’t bellow a 2 min 43 sec long grand eloquent speech on behalf of the entirety of the book of grudges, wrongs to be righted and his axe in hand reaping the smited. Just to get snekked attacked like Dale Gribbles pocket sand. *This is madness, This is TRAGIC*

Lol love how cowardly the skaven are, just completely consistent "The skaven attacked in utterly unending numbers, but met serious resistance, so they retreated" Over and over, strong af self preservation instincts

I seriously started rewatching your channel (to watch the Elder Scrolls lore videos) but was looking through the Warhammer playlists to see what wars you covered. I was sad to see there were no dwarf centered videos. That was literally a day ago. And then this video drops today! Crazy haha

I really love this channel as well as Kings and Generals. They have the formula down to a science and can make something as inherently crappy as End Times interesting.

RIP to the best Skaven Warlord, Queek and his boy Ska. Died only to have Thorgrim killed because he left a door open.

This one really annoyed me because it was really good and stirring story right up until the writer decided to cheat and have Snikch enter a place no one could enter. It was a sealed chamber! Suddenly the Skaven could open portals anywhere in Karak A Karaz. Why didn't they use this "ability" earlier? How did Snitch know to attack Thorgrim right when his armour had a crack? Once again Chaos got to play "I win because I say so" rule card. Also the unending supply of Skaven got me as well. Brood Mothers don't pop out fully grown skaven. It does take a little time and the massive losses the Skaven clans had sustained leading up to and including the siege of the last Dwarf hold. This all happens in a matter of months. Even the Russians had to stop after each offensive against the Germans to regroup, heal and reinforce (usually taking around six months to do it). Skarsnick also was done poorly here. I remember at the time many Greenskin gamers complaining that he would never have been that stupid.

@@ZanderChief That's excellent. Perfect descriptor. Similar thing almost happened in Storm of Chaos when they just killed off Valten by having a Skaven Assassin murder him after his fight with Archaon. When Chaos is in trouble call in the Rat Assassins to turn things around.

I mean. Chaos literally is Deus Ex Machina. The only reason why they didn't destroy the world, is that they don't really try to. Though humans perceive only negative aspects of chaos, they actually represent complex forces of nature.

@@TheRezro Well at the end of End Times they did destroy the World it's just that the 4 Chaos Gods were satiated (Slaanesh for example becoming completely stuffed with all those Elf souls) and turned their attention elsewhere allowing the remaining Order Avatars to pick up pieces and create the different planes of existence that became the Age of Sigmar. But unlike say Morgroth the Chaos Gods destroyed the planet and both their own followers as well as their foes. In a way kind of like the Tyranids.

@@ebf1131 its common joke among WH fantasy community. Since Chaos forces win easily most battles, its often regarded as Neverchosen Fanfiction, as it was written by Archaon (called neverchosen by fans) where he literally becomes a god after burning the world and have Manfred commit world suicide

So much of this makes no sense to me. One being how snarsknik would ever ally with queek especially considering when it came to control of eight peaks the skaven were always the greater threat.

@@JAnubis117 ya I know they do, which doesn't make sense to me why they ever would or ever needed to make a bargain. Belegar never had the forces to oust either of them. Quek was the greater threat and skarsnik basically gave him eight peaks

I am quite fond of mongol wars especially jin wars, there are numerous wonderfull battles like Battle of yehuling, Battle of Sanfengshan and others, could you make all these battles and more detailed mongol jin wars ? I and i think most of users would be quite happy : )

I am weirdly excited for Rakarth's entry if you are planning to do it, cause I know in his chapter he kinda steals the show in his chapter being a badass like no other, he could have ran after the death of his beloved mount, and live to die to the forces of chaos, yet he didn't. I never read the books, but I hope you do him justice in this beautiful editing style. (note: Never played Dark Elves, I play Skarsnik, and I hate how he is in the end time books)

I am torn up. I dont know if I want to watch anymore of these videos. I absolutely love it every minute of it, but at the same time crestfallen, knowing that the warhammer races are facing defeat and annihilation left-right-and center 😢

Every body knows that there is no such thing as giants rats.

Dwarves were lucky that the Rats didn't bring their techno lasers and nuclear rocks with them to these battles.

One small correction: Chamon wasn't attracted to Thorgrim, but to the Master Rune containing Grungni's essence graven on the Throne of Power. He still got power from it, but he wasn't a true Incarnate. It's noted that Thorgrim could have been fully bonded with Chamon, had he had a more flexible mindset and more time. Sadly, his dwarfen stubbornness and Snikch's intervention prevented that.

Why did the the Skaven charge wall with Doom-Flayers? Even if they got to the lines they would be unable to do anything.

one thing is for sure, the dwarven attacks were unprovoked and the elves owed it to the skaven to provide more weaponry. perhaps when elvish ornithopters arrive, it'll be a gamechanger....until then peace will be unthinkable, even as the deathtoll mounts unsustainably

Although predictable, it's depressing how the dwarfs went back to their usual strategy of "weathering the storm" after Thorgrim's death, instead of following the example he set in his whole life. They should have surged out, abandoning their holds and rendezvousing with the Empire. This clarity is what makes Gotri Hammerson's Zhufbarak stabd out in the latter stages of the war. But I guess no one can blame the other dwarfs: holing down helped then survive one apocalypse before, so they wrongly assumed it'd work again.
