When I was in Japan in a Karaoke bar, a Japanese man ask me to sing ANAK in tagalog since he only heard it in Japanese, he likes to hear the original song. He like it very much.

What are the 27 languages? So far, I've found Filipino, Malay, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Japanese, Korean, English, Spanish, German, Italian and Finnish.

I was in a Catholic church in The Hague, (Scheveningen) in 1981 when I heard the choir singing a familiar tune. I then realized it was "Anak" in Dutch. I felt proud that this beautiful song with even more beautiful lyrics resonated in Europe. I was alone and could not tell anyone that the song was from my country. I will be visiting The Hague again within 2 months to celebrate a postponed 40th year reunion. Thank you for this video. It gave me the idea to visit the Salvatore brothers in that church which was beside the place where I once stayed as a student.

Anak means in Indonesian language also "child" .me, by birth an Indonesian and living till now in The Netherlands, hearing this song in the 70's. Though never knew the message of the song it's touched me in that time. A melancholic song and gladly never happen with my own children!

That man in the middle age looks like he feels like crying, the song is very touching indeed and the lady sang it beautifully..

am filipino heard this on japanese version on japanese tv sung by a woman, though i dont understood the rithym was familiar. kanji words flashing on the screen english alphabet "anak" was shown. made me proud.

This version is really good. It retained the emotion and vibe of the song.

She translated it for the old man in glasses Lee Towers. He heard this song along time ago but didn't understood the song.

Thanks for uploading. I remember the song from it was a hit at the end of the 70's. I love this version and although I don't speak Filipino, I still like that version better. You feel all the feeling behind the lyrics from the orginal by Freddie Aguilar and it goes right to your heart. Even without knowing the meaning....
