One of the leading bootleggers in the prohibition era, Dutch Schultz’s criminal empire saw him engage in violent wars which led to people being tortured and murdered.
His rise to power however would see him draw the attention of special prosecutor Thomas Dewey, who at the time was stamping out organised crime. Schultz’s mission to have Dewey killed would end up being his downfall as the bosses of the criminal underworld would turn against him and have him murdered instead.
