Vini saved my life when I was around 16. He showed me possibilities and gave me food and a place to stay when nobody else would. I will always love him for that.

I used to be a postman in 1985. I used to deliver to Vini on Central Road in Didsbury. Never knew who he was. What a great muso Bruce lived on that road as well.
The most influential "unknown" band. I saw them in the late 80s at the Bottom Line in New York and was AMAZED. I expected them to become super popular. Whoops, wrong again. Still, I hear so many new bands and think to myself, "Nice try, but Durutti Column did that better". BTW, how great is that drummer?!
Beautiful! I remember seeing this, totally by accident, on TV as a kid. I went out & bought my first Durutti Column records the following day...
