Oh please, there is a fine line between rock and pop. Notorious was definitely a funk rock album. DD is still relevant, making albums of their own music for almost 40 years, still touring and have influenced many, many people. If that doesn't make them eligible, then I don't know what is a good candidate for the hall of fame. Isn't Madonna in??

He seems like a super super nice man and I was recently watching him on KZread while Susanne Hopper from The Bangles was singing eternal flame. I was about in tears but she still has this gorgeous voice and still beautiful as ever on the inside and out. John Taylor was fabulous during the whole conversation and the song. he's one person I would really like to meet and I think that Queen and Duran Duran put on the bus show for Live Aid that day. I saw Duran Duran in concert in Roanoke Virginia in February 1984 and it was incredible and far better than the Van Halen concert the month before.

Anyone notice that none of them are wearing hearing protection? For anyone who knows the bands history, this concert was put together at the last minute, that is, not playing together for a year, flying in and having little time to practice. The feedback ..high squeal noises.... happened in many stadiums with performers. With that large of a crowd, it would knock anyone off key. I think considering the circumstances, this was a great concert. They may have felt more at home at wembley stadium, but they were a young band, touring constantly, 3 albums, and the stress shows. John had a drug problem, Andy partied, and Roger quit shortly after this concert. It was an honor just to play. Here we are, 33 years later, .....who is still making new music, alive, from live aid? I watched live, and I didn’t care. I was home, but those who 💩 on Duran Duran because of this, or define them because of this? You don’t know Duran Duran.

back in the 80s, all my schoolmates listened to metal bands at that time. I didn't really give a damn. And although I felt their looks and their judgment towards me for listening to Duran Duran and on top of that, having my folder full of photos of the band. I appreciate having the courage to enjoy it at a time when being just a little bit different was reason enough to be bullied.

It's all about expectations. Duran Duran was the #1 rock band in the world at the time - "View to a Kill" was #1 in just about every country. There was a LOT of pressure on them to be perfect, but let's be real: they hadn't played together in 18 months, they were all sick of each other, Roger didn't even want to do it anymore, and John and Andy were very likely high as kites during this performance. Add to that there was no sound check and the general mayhem of the day, and yeah, you get something that isn't as tight as it should have been. But like you, I thought the performance was fine for what it was. Many acts were worse. If you don't believe me, go watch Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's performance. Every single one of them was off-key and David Crosby was so drugged out he didn't even move. It was awful.
