Always find it sad how in this age of recycling how little actually gets recycled that could be recycled easily. People are strange when it comes to someone making money from their trash, even though the dumpster companies are making $ off it. And the less that is in the bin the more money the company saves in bin fees.

One company puts out ballast-in-a-basket to make sure it gets recycled, the next kicks up a fuss when do their recycling for them. Funny old world.

No lie just binged on your channel for a day and a half. Great content Mike 👌

The camera systems they're installing now can differentiate between random motion from the wind blowing stuff around and there actually being a person behind their building and only notify them to check the cameras when there's a person or if there's a vehicle that stopped. So they don't even have to pay any attention to the cameras, they just do other stuff until they get a notification. Still if they're going to be so strict on keeping people out of the dumpsters they should start doing some recycling of their own. If they didn't put good scrap in there, nobody would be in the dumpster in the first place.

I stopped watching scrap and pallet man when he stole that bike laying in someones yard that was just a little too close to the road. Scrapping by a garbage can is one thing but, to drive by and pick up a really nice bike in someones yard is totally different.

@@flap9995 I must have missed that episode. He has been cautious of bikes not at the curb on episodes I've watched. I share your feelings about that. MTS always asks if he can take the scrap if the owner is out.

They're definitely changing out florescent tubes for LED tubes. If you get the good kind you completely bypass the ballasts and just wire the 120 or 277 volt supply directly to the bulb holders. We did a bunch of ours at work but we left the ballasts in the fixtures.

Run Mikey Run !!!! I hear the chopper in the air !! Mike, I worked at a security place that did 24 hr monitoring, I worked graveyard shift for a long time. We had all the cameras, etc. I never messed with anyone who did honest scrapping. They took care of me & vise versa, ( I had yard clean up duty in the mornings ). PS. The mouse was a bonus, no charge !

That size dumpster is flat fee usually emptied once a week sometimes every other week depending on the service plan.

Issue starts Joe when some one gets killed or injured and the company will get prosecuted for various health and safety faults, If it were my company i would ensure all the scrap is left for a few days by the side of skip with a severe warning not to climb in to it, or possible just lock it

Go back to that business in morning, that yelled at you. Ask for the owner or boss you'd like to talk to him about a business proposal. Tell him you would scrap the metal from their trashes at a certain time, and it would help both parties. He can add a lot more to the trash while you salvage what you can. Also inform him that their are no more new landfills to open in America and as the landfills fill up, prices for waste disposal goes up.

It’s called lawsuits. Businesses have been sued for doing just that so they have no choice but to toss the stuff in the dumpster. After that, they’re not liable for injuries and such.

Mike I love you because of your character and hard work. I think if you went to that company during the day and ask them of you can grab the scrap they might just say yes. Good luck and yes I know you work a full time job. Maybe on your way home or on lunch. You can try calling them but seeing them eye to eye and passionate you are about recycling ♻️.
