Dumpster Diving Street Scrapping - Found a Bowflex!

Dumpster diving turns to street scrapping as we aim to make the most of a gorgeous day hunting for treasures! Ended up making two trips to the scrapyard and finally answered the age-old question: What is Bowflex REALLY worth?
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
The grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
The melting furnace: amzn.to/3EGxT2q
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

I always want to scrap things, I remember moving out of my first college apartment and my roommate left her metal futon frame. The metal yard was very close to my apt so I took it over and got $7 Paid for lunch. :)

M8 does your scrap yard pay for cu wire ? Here they buy it as a percentage of copper vs plastic for instance , Christmas lights with bulbs and plug ins are 25% , household wire is 45% , thicker wire could be 65%, 85% etc . Keep up the good work. God bless y'all.

Most of the material in modern faucet assemblies are a zinc-aluminium alloy (sometimes called pot metal) it’s heavier than aluminum but not pure zinc. I’ve seen lots of plastic ones too. They’ll still have brass and copper parts though so it’s worth checking!

Hmm. Since you're not a bad person, I'm going to chalk your behavior at the Diabetes bins as ignorance rather than arrogance. Those Diabetes donation bins are not garbage bins. People have made a choice to donate something to that particular place, and it's waiting pickup from the Diabetes foundation. If you want clothes and are in need, ehn, yeah, okay, maybe help yourself, because at least you're getting the full value of the item out of it. But, to take something that was donated for people in need, people that can't afford furniture, and destroy it for a penny on the dollar in scrap is disrespectful and, maybe even illegal since it's not garbage. And yeah, I know that probably 80% of what gets donated (to any thrift place) doesn't even see a second use, half of it goes to trash and the other half gets put on a shelf for a bit before going to trash anyways, but... that's not really your place to intercept it and decide that. If someone's dropped off broken trash, okay, but that looked like disassembled and usable. Undo your ignorant behavior and go make a $20 donation to the Diabetes foundation as an "Oops, didn't know."

It's a donation bin not a donation parking lot, anything left outside is considered littering, regardless of the intent of the donation. Most have signs informing folks to not pile items outside the container, leaving clothing outside to be ruined by rain or blown across the parking lot is not a good idea anyways. It's a clothing drop box, not for tables, housewares, baby seats or any other items folks are too lazy to find the proper charity to donate to. The bins are collected at most weekly. When they become a dumping ground like that one it will soon be removed at the request of the property manager, so if you're in the habit of piling whatever outside a container thinking it's a good thing your doing more harm than good.
