Hey everyone... The fam and I are all good after that crazy blast of weather. The wife and I don't have power but my folks live down the street and have power so I am able to post from their pad. kick back can be caused by either improper valve lash or they hit something big with the blade and sheared the flywheel key making engine out of time, easy fix unless the crank got bent from striking a heavy object

Hey Mike .those bank sending tubes have a motor on the bottom part that you put the travel tube in just letting you know if you didn't know .they look like the one you found in the box that was with them

I have been watching for awhile, and I still can't believe you don't have separate dumpsters for cardboard. Wishing you well with storms.

Yes we have been experiencing some exceptionally severe storms as of late. Tornadoes, heavy rain, hailstorms with golf ball and larger size hail balls. It’s been interesting.

Good morning Mike.

Troybilt an easy fix, unless they bent the crankshaft (at bottom of engine, that the blade connects to). What happens is, they whaxk something hard enough to immediately stop the engine (such as a curb, tree root, neighbor, rock etc) and when that happens there is a tiny aluminum shear key on the flywheel that is designed to break, and throw off the spark timing to quickly stop the engine from running. Usually on that job you will replace both the mangled grass cutting blade, and the shear key. Relatively cheap fix for a nice mower!! The only potential issue is if the object was hard enough to bend the crankshaft when hit, then even with a repair it will vibrate so badly that its dangerous. Only fix then is either replace crankshaft ($$$) or replace engine with a new or even better, used one off an old mower. But they have to have same crankshaft length, width, and engine mounting bolt patterns if you decide to go that route ✌

Ha Mike That dentist exray machine, could be hotter than a two pecker Billy goat. The reason why they replace them, is because they have a shutter that opens and closes. And the trigger that does it go , gets stuck open. And it starts over exposing the film. And thair is nothing thair, to stop the exrays coming out the barrel, sorta speek. Thair are 24 silver looking ballbarens about the size of blue berries. That products One hundred and twenty rads. IF the shutters open, inside a steel dumpster, they will reckasha off the steel. The combined construction of the exrays, can be as high as one thousand four hundred permilla second. I use to build these things. RUN

The kickback on the pull rope is usually due to the flywheel key being sheered because the user hit something like a rock or a thick root and stopped the mower abruptly. When the shaft stops abruptly, the flywheel wants to keep going, sheering the key. Now the timing is off. It's an easy fix as long as they also didn't bend the driveshaft and the blade, then it's toast.

Those turbo molecular pumps can run between $20k-$50k brand new.

On the mower check the oil. Alot of them are overfilled which leaks into the carb and gums them up.

Hi Mike, Nice find on the table and chairs. The key might be partially sheard and. Ends to be replaced. I bought a bunch and have with spark plugs and blades. Normal repair bill is $75. Cheaper to toss then repair. Have a good weekend to you and yours.
