Dumbledore Knife

Hey guys!
This time I bring a themed knife inspired by the character Albus Dumbledore, from Harry Potter. I really like this type of work, and as far as I remember I haven't posted one like this here.
To develop this piece I studied a little about the character and his universe. (Although I already know a lot from living surrounded by fans of the franchise like my wife and sister.)
I started with the base of the "Elder Wand", which was not specifically his, but was in his possession for most of the films. She asked for a slim blade to match, so I chose the Mediterranean blade model. For the handle I used imbuia wood and a piece of deer antler.
As the visual identity of the universe in question usually refers to old or used things and Albus was very old, I decided that the finish of the blade should be in accordance, but without being too rustic because that wouldn't match the character. I gave it a satin finish and created an aged effect using mustard and vinegar, as if it were a blade that had oxidized over time.
If you look closely, you will see that the edge is not straight, but almost curved, in a way that is seen in sharp knives many times over time.
For the sheath I used a shape that would match a wand holster, and cayman skin to refer to dragons, whose blood was the object of Albus' study.
And so I present the Dumbledore knife. I hope you enjoyed!

Dessa vez trago uma faca temática inspirada no personagem Alvo Dumbledore, de Harry Potter. Gosto bastante desse tipo de trabalho, e até onde lembro ainda não tinha postado um assim por aqui.
Para desenvolver essa peça estudei um pouco sobre o personagem e seu universo. (Apesar de já conhecer bastante por viver cercado por fãs da franquia como minha esposa e minha irmã.)
Parti da base da "Varinha das Varinhas", que não era especificamente dele, mas esteve em sua posse durante boa parte dos filmes. Ela pedia uma lâmina esguia para combinar, então escolhi o modelo de lâmina mediterrânea. Para a empunhadura usei madeira de imbuia e um pedaço de chifre de cervo.
Como a identidade visual do universo em questão normalmente remete a coisas antigas ou usadas e Alvo era muito velho decidi que o acabamento da lâmina deveria estar de acordo, mas sem ser rústico demais porque isso não combinaria com o personagem. Fiz um acabamento acetinado e criei o efeito de envelhecida usando mostarda e vinagre, Como se ela fosse uma lâmina que sofreu oxidação com o tempo.
Se repararem bem verão que o fio não é reto, mas quase recurvo, de uma maneira que se vê em facas afiadas muitas vezes ao longo do tempo.
Para a bainha usei um formato que combinaria como coldre para varinha, e pele de cayman para remeter aos dragões, cujo sangue foi objeto de estudo de Alvo.
E assim apresento a faca Dumbledore. Espero que tenham gostado!

Ok! I'm impressed. Just the size of the hidden tang for that more delicate type style knife made me want to subscribe. Love knowing that the tang isn't ever going to be an issue.

One of my favorite parts of the movies was when they tried to arrest him in his office and he and his family pet phoenix, Fox vanished in the flames. After seeing the young Dumbledore in the newest movies, I don’t know how I would design a knife around him.
