A strategy in Nuts wads: attract monsters and make them infight, hide until decreasing number rate of monsters halts, repeat until there are few left. Use weaponry if necessary for self defence. Conserve ammo. Use powerups at the right time. If cover is not present, use your dodging skills to evade hits. Hitscan enemies are high priority since their bullets can't be predicted.

DeanYktRu I concur. You have to think about what you’re doing and where you’re going. You can’t play this level like a kid and just jump down and randomly start shooting.

these wads used to lag badly at one point and on some source ports (GZdoom for example) they still do but they mostly run fine on limit removing ports like prboom and crispy

It's the theme to the Commodore 64 game Wizardry, as well as the theme to the Spectrum ZX game Fairlight.

Do you have a NASA supercomputer? Your computer was able to handle NUTS.WAD without a hiccup.

Nuts is a wad that actually go NUTS lol.

Forget using the BFG 9000, you need the BFG 10000 from Brutal DOOM to get through this shit

How are you able to play this wad without lag? When I run it it's like watching a slideshow. Running ZDoom but recently updated to GZDoom. I have skulltag but it's too barebones, more like DOS doom. I do like all the options that the Z series of source ports provides. Not enough plasma or rocket ammo in this wad. I might have to do something about that. I tried this wad with russian overkill, 1fps for me, it was a lag fest.

i think he hoesn't play it in gzdoom if you play it in prboom plus for example it runs pretty smooth for me. While on gzdoom no matter which settings it slows down into the singel degits

where is the option to make enemies have actual height so I can run on top of them? I think the only way to beat the 3rd one is to run on top, which I cannot do on any engine im running, they have infinite height.

For me, the BFG is the worst weapon in Doom and one I rarely (and reluctantly) use. It's too RNG for me and I recently found out about the blockmap bug, which I think limits its effectiveness. Look how many blasts it takes to kill the Cybers in Nuts 1.

The BFG10000 isn't a original Doom weapon, as it is usually found on custom Doom WADs or the Skulltag source port.
