DUKC® Iron Ore Train

Each train like this one can
consist of up to 236 wagons,
be up to 2.4km long,
and carry 25,000 tonnes of iron ore.
It takes up to 10 trains to fill a single ship.
Using Dynamic Under Keel Clearance technology, ships optimise their cargo for each voyage.
DUKC® enables the Pilbara iron ore miners including Rio Tinto, BHP, Fortescue (FMG) and Roy Hill to export an additional 8 trains of cargo every day.
That's worth USD$18m.
Every day.
More tonnes on fewer ships means less fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.
In the past year, the direct contribution of DUKC® is estimated to have reduced the fuel costs by USD$130m and the CO2 emissions by 1.2m tonnes.
