Ducati Panigale V4 | Ohlins FGRT 214 Black Series Fork Install

Welcome back to the channel. Today we install the OHLINS FGRT 214 BLACK SERIES ROAD & TRACK FRONT FORKS FOR PANIGALE V4.
I purchased these from Motomillion.com. I also install a Black TITANIUM Axle from V4evo.com, Ducabike Caliper Spacers and a Ducabike Axle Nut. I hope you enjoy the video. Stay tuned for the next episode where I install the Superleggera Carbon Fiber Fairing Set. Thanks for watching.

That's awesome! Love this build! Speaking of captive spacers, I attempted to install captive spacers on my 2004 ZX10R front wheel, and I could not for the life of me get them in correctly. The axle on the 04/05 is 20mm, whereas most other wheels are 25mm. The lips on the dust seal kept twisting when I pushed the spacers in, and the wheel would hardly spin at all when off the ground. After two days of trying to get them right, and watching all kinds of YT videos, I gave up and had to go with the stock spacers, which are much easier to install.

That's odd. We're they bike specific? Possibly, the vendor shipped you the wrong set? The BST wheels came with a set of their own. Stock Spacers would not work otherwise in my case. These ones are nice. They slide inside the bearing opening, reducing the inside diameter. I ordered my wheels with sealed ceramic wheel bearings, I was surprised at first when I did not see any dust seals.

@@MotoGarageTV Yeah, the spacers came with the wheels, bought them from a guy in NY who had them on his race bike. I had the wheels powdercoated and I installed new bearings and seals. But the bike is for road use, so it’s not a biggie👍🏻

Was so waiting for such a great tutorial on how to. My ohlins are still few months away 🥱🥱 but always good to watch and learn. Watching your front wheel free spinning tho made me think of mine. Doesn't spin as much and I also have a funny noise coming from the front when I'm manoeuvring the bike slowly like to park it etc. Would that be lack of grease around the axle or something? Regardless, thanks again for your videos. Great entertainment and learning material. Can't wait to see the whole bike out back together. Ride safe mate

I put grease on my axle to prevent the bearings from seizing on it. I would suspect your bearings are making the noise, assuming you ruled out the normal noise the floating rotors tend to make.

The sealed ceramic bearings are a definite must-have. 👍

@@MotoGarageTV hmmm thanks for the info. I've ruled out the semi floating rotors that my v4 has. I'm also pretty sure my thyssenkrupps came with ceramic bearings. I'll have to check my greasing lol. Is it just the type b grease from ducati's manual you use? Might just pop the wheel out, clean and regrease. Thanks for the helpful info you provide. Cheers

@@michaelioannidis5980 popping the wheel off sounds like a good idea, I would do the same thing. Start ruling things out one by one. I actually use Super Lube Grease for all my type B grease locations. Keep me posted, I'm curious to know what you find out. Thanks

Loving the videos! Keep them coming I have a streetfighter V4s and Panigale V4s and did all the work myself as well. Love wrenching on them. I am pretty sure you are selling a lift on a certain site based on the forks you have up for sale from this video :). I am local in NorCal in Novato, and wondering if we could work out a deal locally?

What's the make and model of the pneumatic jack that you were able to retrofit to the Abba lift?

Why do i not see extended forks for sale or videos for v4 its like they dont exist but i know there alot of people out there that need longer forks because the ride is unbearable for taller people. Someone has to make em cause lower links arent enough.

  • @MotoGarageTV

Very true, but adding length to your forks changes the geometry of the bike, and my guess is people don't want to mess with that and deal with the issue. I'm 5'11" and fit just fine. It's a very aggressive riding angle just by design, but I can understand if you are 6'+ it being uncomfortable.

Absolutely, after I dialed in the settings, I noticed right away. It really depends on how long you've driven around with the stock forks. It might be in my head, but I feel that I have better contact with the road, more stable control

I don't plan on it. I was going to in the beginning since they were already exposed, but no real gains, plus they are hidden once the fairings go on.
