Ducati Multistrada V2s First Ride Review, This Bike Is A Weapon

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#Ducati #Multistrada #DucatiMultistrada
First ride review of the brand new 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2S.
I have always wanted to ride a Ducati, but never got round to it. Thought this would be the perfect excuse.
In this video I talk through my experience of testing this bike in a first ride review. I am by no means a bike expert, and when it comes to tech specs - not the most clued up - but I imagine that's properly about 99% of people who ride bikes :-)
Whilst this bike comes in just shy of £15K, its one hell of a weapon. If you're looking for a mid-weight dual sport bike that will do it all, this could be it for you. It is incredibly powerful, smooth and comfortable for those long miles ahead!

I was a HD guy all my life until the Pandemic hit. One Fatboy, 1 Street Glide, 2 Road Glides prior. I thought I should down size at 69 years old so I bought a 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Loved the bike but it just did not have enough go for the North Dallas Toll Roads. Traded for my 2022 Multistrada V2S, took delivery in January. I love the machine. The Skyhook suspension is the best I have ever had. I picked the V2S over the V4 because I never ride two up and the 113 HP of the V2S is plenty for real world one up riding. The one thing I had to get used to, is this bike doesn't like being under 3,500 RPM. The quick shifter is pretty much flawless even between 1st and 2nd as long as you don't shift when the RPM's are too low. The sound track of the V2S, even with stock exhaust, is bad ass!!! Sorry HD never coming back to you.

@@flexywing I traded the Ducati for a Moto Guzzi 850 V7 Special. The Ducati was a great bike. However most of my recreational riding is done in the City. In Dallas with 100F temps in the summer the bike was just too hot. On the open road the Ducati V2S is a dream. It definitely is not a city bike. So think about how your are actually going to be riding.

Nice review. You indicate the V2S is expensive so you would consider the V4, the caveat is he V4 is another $10k! I decided to go for the V2S over the V4, V4 power is overkill for public roads. I added the spoked wheels to do some light off road. I had a 2022 Pikes Peak, amazing bike; however, it's heavier, can't do any off-road and super expensive!

HI M A M. Enjoyed your take on the new Multi 950 V2. Trying to figure out the differences to the prev Multi 950. Does it matter? This due to great prices on lightly used Multis around here (Canada west). Was back road traveling on a Suzi 1000 Vstrom for 50 thou miles, set up for road only. Tried to get rid of off-road pretensions. Mich Pilot Road tires, zorst, suspension, lots of small changes. Biggest help on that was installing Norton 3" rise handle bars, the OE ones belonged on a Harley Sportster. Btw, the OE luggage rack on those weighs a ton. Looks aluminum, feels cast iron. Anyway it wound up weighing under 400 lbs so the 100 ish hp was plenty. That thing was a twisty road secret weapon. It really looks like the V2 Multi could do the same job and then some. I also fear dumping a gleaming Ducati in rocks and mud. Loads of adventure riders consider crashing normal operating procedure. Problem is, compared to a real dirt bike like a WR250 Yam or something, all the big adv bikes are tanks. A KTM like yours is indeed able to navigate dirt tracks, tire choice and pressure adjusted to suit of course. I wonder if that's the issue, everyone is heading off road with street tire pressures. 36 and 40 psi? Crash guaranteed. It sounds crazy but start slow trail riding with 24 and 26 f & r. You can take out a bit more if it still tries to wash out. Forget all your luggage and over a half tank of fuel on big bikes if trail riding. Add air for fast hard packed tracks. Be aware, back on blacktop, back to high psi. Yes it is a pain the first couple of times, messing with air. It soon seems normal and dropping your bike is far worse. A few big bikes like the Yam Super Tenere already have a plug in for a small auto air compressor. And that thing will not even notice the addition. Plus flat tires just became far less of a crisis. Good luck.

I was selling my Tenere 700 to get this, but only in the last week the price went up drastically. And the availibility is not any sooner than October 2023. And we cannot even pay the whole fee and freeze the bike price. There is no telling how much it will end up being all the way down in November. I don't care so much for the fuel guzzling attribute which is not so bad for this. Nor the desmo service which is only once every 30,000km's. But the base price is crazy. And about to get crazier. So I might decide to get a BMW F750GS, Tiger 900 or Tracer 900 instead. Wish they still made the legendary Yamaha Fazer 600/800's.
