Hi Kev.........If you are a fan of Scotch Whisky there is a bar beside "The Temple Bar" called the "Whiskey Reserve". Lots of glass cases around the walls with collections of Irish and Scotch. You're welcome to just browse, they don't expect you to buy. Best collection of Macallan in the country and lots of hard to find Irish collections. Well worth a look. The bridge outside your hotel is affectionately called the "Aluminium Bridge", was originally called the "Millennium Bridge". It sways a bit when there's a crowd on it. Downriver a bit is the "Ha'penny Bridge", originally a toll bridge and usually festooned with padlocks with initials of lovers on it. Enjoy yer stay. Good to see ya in Dublin!

Irl and Uk Electric system and sockets are the same.They always have been.

Nice room- rare to get a city centre room at that price. It goes to €500 the weekend Taylor swift comes to town! All 'UK' plugs in ireland

Don't ever be stuck for a plug always ask reception for a loan of one ! they normally have boxes full of ones left behind and are more than happy to help

We stayed in the Zanzibar Locke Hotel which is right across the river from this Hotel. The room is very similar to this one but I think the price was a little bit more. The room was noisy which was our only complaint so the Wellington seems to be better on price and noise levels. One for the future. The location is excellent if you want to visit Dublin City Center. Strangely enough, the electrical sockets in the Zanzibar are also 3 pin, how bizarre is that.

What a fantastic price Kevin . Right at the heart of the city brilliant. 👍

That price hotel is amazing and Temple bar is a very safe spot to stay also I would always carry a power bank with me great video enjoy Dublin

Temple bar safe ? Are you joking ? You mean apart from all of the horrific attacks from the local drug induced skangers on tourists in the last 2 years ? They are everywhere, even in the daytime. Dublin City center is a cesspool. Do not walk around it on your own late at night.

Great location in that hotel. Did you try the Oval Bar 78 Middle Abbey St. We came across it a few years ago and loved the character of the building. Stopped after shopping trip for a refreshment and stayed a few hours instead. Loved it !

Get a multi adaptor, Kev. I have two and use them a lot. Solves your issue

Get an all in one adapter they have uk eu usa and aus built in cost about £20 but are worth it great videos. Uefa cup final in Dublin this year(May) so price's will rocket soon for the next couple of months. great video

The G type plug only became standardised in 1947. Britain used the type D and M plugs before that. Ireland used the German Schuko (Type F) before 1973. So you were right just 50 years too late 😄

I think you will find that Dublin is much the same as any UK city..

Nice room Kevin, 🚘 Cars etc just Feet away, I couldn’t hear any traffic while watching this . I would have been like you with these plugs, that’s something I didn’t know . 👍

You got a great deal. As for the wrong plug, just go and buy an adaptor for the price of a beer. Temple bar is not the real Dublin.

It is confusing as Ireland is part of the eu

We also drive on the left and speak English due to our history. However, we measure weights and distances in metric which is different to the UK. Europe is not America so each individual country has its own culture, language(mostly!), and ways of doing things, always better to check before visiting. The EU is not all of Europe, it’s only 27 countries within the European continent. Hope that helps. I hope you have a wonderful time if you ever visit us here in Ireland.

Until recently the UK was also in the EU, some lack of brain cells among UK folk since Brexit thinking that because Ireland is still in the EU we should all be speaking French, driving on the right and using weird plugs.
